Camera's vs Axxera Radio

In our previously owned FourWinds, the Radio audio would not work when the backup camera came on. When any of the Axis three camera's come on the radio audio cuts out. I guess I assumed that, that's just the way it works.
Is that the way it works? Do I have a problem?

I can't mess with the audio when either the side cameras or the rear camera come on. It's a little irritating.

The Axxera Radio adjustments are non functional when the turn signal/side cameras and the backup camera are on. Some find it irritating...we have not had a problem, in that the turn signal is on for a short period of time and same with the backup...we seldom find that we need to adjust the radio volume/station in that short period of time.

I believe they don't work because the radio is designed to use a camera/microphone setup. When camera is on the radio is interrupted to allow sound from the microphone which you probably don't have. On the Tuscany we used to have it had the camera/microphone, when rear camera was on we got the loud roar of wind and engine noise thru the speakers. I disconnected the microphone which stopped the noise but still didn't have radio when camera was on.

The audio from radio continues to play while turn signal cameras are on - and if I manually select any camera to view. Audio is only interrupted when the RV is put in REVERSE (and the microphone on that camera is activated).

Now being a touch screen for majority of controls - the turn signals do override changing many audio settings - but unless I'm changing lanes while DW is trying to find a new station - hasn't been an issue.

On our Tuscany you cannot adjust the radio volume while the cameras are on. We travel with the rear camera on to see the Dinghy and it help to see people close behind you. You can turn camera on/off by holding down on the top right eject button that raises the entire screen (about 3 seconds). It would be nice to be able to adjust the volume while viewing.

Also, you do not need to disconnect the rear microphone. If you access the secondary audio screen you can turn the volume down to mute the rear microphone. We do not use it with engine running since you can't hear over the engine.

We had the same problem. Fortunately the radio failed and we needed a new one. The person who put in the new one hooked it up correctly. Maybe a tech could take out the radio and see it is connected correctly.

I have the same issue. I tow a Gold Wing trike with my Hurricane 29M and I like to keep the backup camera on to keep my eye on the trailer/trike. As far as I can tell if I leave the backup camera on I can't use the radio. I don't want to keep switching between radio and camera so I leave the camera on. Wish I could use both simultaneously.

If you have the Axxerra 614 (my previous radio) you can view the camera while the radio is playing. Press and hold the mode button for a few seconds to switch between functions. You cannot adjust the radio volume while the camera is being displayed.

If you have the Axxerra 615 you can viwe the camera while the radio is on by pressing the camera icon on the screen. On this radio you can adjust the radio volume while the camera is displayed.

My 614 was replaced with a 615 (extended warranty) because the 614s (3 of them) kept losing power while driving.
