Camping Pics/Show your rig

I've seen a thread like this in other forums so I figured I'd start one here for fun. Post a pic of your rig camping.

Here we are this past weekend prior to the huge leak test last night:

The camper did survive the downpours quite well--can't say the same for the chairs as they are currently drying out in our garage.

This was at a Michigan State Park (Sleepy Hollow just North of Lansing, MI).

We had some serious rains on a recent camp outing. About 6 miles of rough road with wash-outs and pot holes full of water so you never knew how deep they were! A slow go trying to pick a best line through the mess was worth it.

We too left our chairs out during one of the downpours but they dried when a bit of sun poked through for a few hours.

Was a nice place to sit and watch the rain.

Great pictures! Love it TyCreek! Looks like a fabulous camping experience.

I'll try to post a picture here once I figure how to master this picture posting thing-a-ma-jig.

Jamie,

Was you site as far out of level as it appears or is it the camera angle? If out of level did it cause any issues? It looks like you are a good foot or more lower in the back than in the front.

BTW, nice pic and it looks like a good place to camp.

Myrtle Beach SP, SC a couple of weeks ago.

Rained on us overnight and half the next day once but soon dried out. Was great being within a short walking distance to the beach. < 1/4 mile away and not the least bit crowded. Dogs allowed on the beach before 10:00am and after 5:00 pm. The Lab loved it about as much as we did.

It wasn't out of level very much at all--enough for the bathroom door not to want to stay open and the water to gather at the back of the sinks but on the EZ-Level it was maybe 1/16" out of level. I was very surprised because it looked like all the sites were sloped away from the road. I think my internal bias about the road made me hold the camera at an angle.

It was a really nice State Park. We really didn't "camp" so much as use it as a place to stay: We were attending a family member's wedding in the park. Much easier to walk to the wedding from the camper than drive from a hotel 10 miles away.

Love these pictures and comments!

We have yet to get out for an adventure in our new Hurricane. We have an appointment to take it Wednesday for some fixes. Then we have two sets of guests coming back to back. Maybe by mid to late July we can plan a trip somewhere into the mountains! Can't wait...we need to get out into nature!

We did our shakedown camping trip this past weekend. Not brave enough to go far, just the front yard. Learned a few things:
1. Heat off the generator will kill the grass below it.
2. Door opens too far and/or too fast and hits the support arms for the awning (DW fixed it with a 10 inch section of old "swimming noodle" we had in the garage, slit it and placed it on the support arm).
3. Need more bug spray.
4. Need thicker pot holders (that microwave will warm up a glass cooking tray!!)

Would attach pictures but have not figured out how to do that on this site, apparently the click and drag does not work.

This was last Dec. in Sky Valley, Ca on a friends property. We had power and water, but no dump. Had to go to Flying J after about 3 days.
This was our longest trip just after our shake-down outing in Oct. I had quite a list of minor things that needed attention on return. We put a little over 6k miles on this trip. The Vegas is just the right size for us and really enjoy traveling in it.

Now the Pictures

Okay,

Let us see if the pictures show up.

One will have my DW and our dogs Satin (black lab) and Munpi (pronounced Moon Pie, the black lab and Austrian mixed).

The other is my DW's fix for the door over opening.

Hey, it worked.

Dave, thanks for the tips on how to get them sent out.

I see you are retired Army. I started Army in 1972 with a letter from the President and a trip to Fort Leonard Wood Mo for 12B10 Combat Engineer. Went to Army Guard, then Air Guard in 1982, activated for Desert Shield/Storm in 1991/92 and retired Air Guard here in NC in 1995. Looking forward to traveling in a little more comfort and style with the Vegas as I head into retirement age in a few more years.

Please keep the helpful hints and ideas rolling along.

I was active the entire time and retired in 1994. I know what you mean about travelling in style. Tanks, PCs, and deuce and a halves aren't the greatest of "recreational vehicles".

If you have a slide on your unit, the noodles work good for headache avoidance. I use 3 pieces on each slide. I cut 2 of them midway so they can bend around the bottom corner of the slide and then put one in the middle.

Enjoy.

Dave,

I'm a visual kind of guy, if I can see it I can usually fix it or copy someone else's fix. So please, if you do not mind, next time you have your unit set up I'd like to see how those noodles are used.

We have a single slide behind the driver's seat with the couch on it. Really adds some space.

That is a great idea to use the pool noodle as a cushion for the door.

Lake Patagonia is only about an hour from where we live! That's on our list to visit once we get the coach back from warranty work, get rid of our company, and get things squared away. We want to do a series of short distance trips to get a feel for how we and the coach will interact with each other!

Love the look of the Marshall Lake area, and hope to go up that way in the near future. We like the Flagstaff area and pine tree environment!

Thanks for posting the pics!
