We need to keep "old glory" flying. Its about all we have left. I am behind CW on this 100%. I fly my flag on a 20 pole in the front yard to folks can see her.

Can anyone sign the petition, or is it just for NC residents?

this story showed up in my google news feed this morning....
I have mixed feelings.

only because..at least how I'm reading it... this is all about the size of the tacky over sized flag. The town isn't saying they can't fly a flag...I don't thin they can, anyway...
but on the other hand I can understand and agree with the idea of resisting anyone's attempt at restricting patriotism....or being solidly against any sort of anti-US attitudes.

The thing I didn't catch is how big of a flag the town "allows"

Big is one thing...tall is another....but huge and tacky is a whole other issue.

& is the over sized flag causing problems for a neighbor in some way?

maybe they could take it from a 30ft x 60ft (an assumption) to a something like a 20ft x 30ft

If you don't like a big American flag, you obviously are Un-American. Were you born in the United States? How dare you call the American flag huge and tacky. It's about time American people quit putting up with such nonsense...

I think that calling the American Flag "huge and tacky"; will probably not be regarded in a kind fashion...

Would you care to re-visit those terms?

There's no more beautiful sight while traveling than to round a curve on the interstate and see a business flying such a huge flag...a flag so big...it flows in the breeze rather than waves. It takes your breath for a few seconds...it's expensive to put up and maintain. My first thoughts are wondering who made that call and how wonderful a heart they have. It resets your love for this Country and all who have given so much for what we have. So many Anti-American haters are making their way more an more into our government. Who ever started this with this city needs to be called out by name...their email blasted over social media and people shut their system down with millions of emails...over and over again...in protest. To judge Old Glory's validity by size...none of them are big enough. If you don't like it...come see us..."way out here". We'll change your mind...or eliminate it!!

I mean the huge part is tacky...not the flag itself.... maybe try to read the intent of what's written
Of course a reasonable sized flag displayed in a respectful manner and for respectable purposes is not tacky at all.

oh, and I'll add...in my opinion there are places where a huge US flag is fitting, respectable, and not tacky at all.
and there are places where it is not.

My only concern with the size is that it's properly installed on the correct size pole and properly lit for night. The CW, car dealers, and other business around here do a great job with all that. Camping World of Little Rock has a giant flag also. One of the guys there told me the size. Can't remember if 40x80 or larger. But he said when they've needed to pull it down for severe weather it takes entire sales staff, parts and service guys, and some shop folks to make sure it doesn't touch the ground and because it's so heavy. When delivered is was taken off the truck with a forklift in it's container. They are really proud of that flag there.

Drive though Little Rock on 40W then head west on I30. You'll see too many big "tacky" flags to count. And it always makes me proud I served.

Coming from Memphis on 40 when you see the CW flag on the horizon you know you're almost to Little Rock.

Would you please expand on just where you think limiting the size of the U.S. Flag would be appropriate? Of course, we're talking "flying" the Flag.

CW and Gander Outdoors fly the large flag here in Florida, really is a sight to see because of its size.
A few years ago we had family visit from Australia and when we passed a CW they made me stop so they can see it up close and must of taken 20 pictures.
