Recently bought some supplies at my local Camping World. Store interior & exterior looked the same but checkout counter literature said Gander Mountain. Clerk said CW had just bought Gander Mtn. Shopping bag said Gander Mtn. Unclear if they are changing the name or just using up the GM bags they now own.

We bought our Thor Ace at Camping World. It was in the shop on and off for nearly 20 of the 24 months we owned it. Massive problems and issues. While it was plugged in to 20 watt outlet, we started the generator for the routine monthly start up. The transfer switch failed to operate, overloading the electrical system and causing a fire, totally destroying the RV.
Lemonis is constantly preaching people, product and process on his show. Well, he has missed the mark with CW and seems to be propping up CW with the Gander RV line. The process we went through in buying the unit from them was under handed. Thankfully I’m big on things in writing and saved the emails. If you buy from them, get EVERYTHING they promise in writing because they are weasels. I’ve seen used car salesman with more ethics than these guys. What’s worse is the service dept knows it and told us to watch what they said! Sad. As a former CEO of a large corporation, I’d be ashamed if one of my teams acted like this.

I guess that we'll just have to see how Gander Mountain fits into the scheme of things...

I liked Gander when they were an outdoor store. I bought several firearms from them. Ours now has low price towables in the parking lot, but no service bays or service area. I hope they do well mainly because they have a great selection of firearms and equipment.

Remember any business by Marcus Lemmonis is there to make him a profit. His number one goal is that profit. Any selection/deletions/omissions in his businesses are on purpose.
Example: After renewing Good Sam I got a coupon worth $25 at Campers World. After spending days shopping the web site I realized there was absolutely nothing of value I could buy for the $25 certificate. A simple $14 screen door crossbar after tax and shipping is over $25. That makes it overpriced and not a real value. In my opinion.

I purchased my screen door bar from Amazon and believe it or not, it is my favorite mod. Makes the screen door so much easier to operate after getting in and the screen door sounds a lot more solid.

You wouldn't marry a prostitute with just a promise that she would quit pulling tricks once you got through the honeymoon. Why do people continue to accept and actually take delivery of RV's...knowing it has issues...but with a promise by the dealer to fix things...LATER?? You're ASKING for trouble and you usually get what you ask for where negatives are involved. If you don't get everything resolved BEFORE you turn over the money...you never will get the "happy ending"!! Why do you think McDonald's gets their money up front??? How many people would actually go back to the counter and pay after they unwrapped that crap??
