Ceiling fans

Hi. We are new owners and picked up our 2021 Freedom Elite 26HE yesterday. Today we are in the driveway loading up for our first trip. We have outside power connected for the a/c, and are loving it. Somehow between the little ‘orientation’ at the dealer yesterday and today we have forgotten how to get the ceiling fans on the vents to come on (they did at the dealer). Can someone help? The ceiling lights work, and the little lights beneath the cupboards work. Also, and maybe related, the light in the cab above the rear view mirror doesn’t work any more either. I feel like there is a magic switch somewhere I am missing.

Thanks for the help!

If the fans are those little anemic 4" diameter white bladed ones there is a switch on the fan itself.

The switches are not working. They did at the dealer yesterday.

Question: have you opened up the vent? My fans shut off when the vents are closed.

Yep, full opening doesn’t do the trick.

Keep those suggestions coming!

Have you checked all your 12v Fuses in your panel?

The switches which work your lights have a third one in the gang.
It controls the fans on ours. If that switch isn't on, the fan switches physically on the fans won't have power and do nothing.
Look for the 12v switch that matches the kind for your lights. It will seem to do nothing. In fact it controls the power to the fans.

I’m still looking for that switch, but yes, fuses are all good in the 12 v panel

k everyone. Mystery solved. When I read “switch” I assumed (and I do know what happens when I assume) that we were referring to the little rocker switch on the exhaust assembly. Of course not. We meant the switch beneath the kitchen cupboards and the one in the bathroom next to the light.

Now everything works great!!

I am glad to see you figured this out. BTW, you can reach out to the manufacture and request all the prints, drawings of your MH. They are using good about providing these. They just prefer to provide instead of owners sending to each other. You have to ask for the systems. I.e, electrical, fresh water, gray and black tank sewage, etc. good to keep in hand so that you can do some basic troubleshooting.

We have a 2019 Thor 26HE we bought from Camping World Syracuse, NY.

The cab light is like a dome light in a car, it can be turned off to not work when the cab doors are open or on to work when the cab doors open or you turn the dash lights brightness ll the way up until it clicks.

We went to Indiana(1200 miles round trip) for our first trip last year and listed all the little things to be fixed.

Dropped it off at Camping World for the warranty items and two months later they had fixed every item, list was 25 items long.

This year we took off for Tennessee(1800 miles round trip).

It is perfect for the two of us. One thing I'd suggest you do is get a steering stabilizer. It makes a world of difference on the interstate.

One last and somewhat bigger investment is hydraulic stabilizer/leveling jacks.

After that you'll have a perfect RV. Our trip this year was so pleasurable with the stabilizer and jacks.

Good luck with your trip.

Yes Thor has all manuals and a great schematic of plumbing, electrical, heat, gas routing and specifications with measurements for your particular model.

You can get each manual for each appliance.

I load them on the Laptop for easy access.

Go to their website and register.

We have thought about that steering stabilizer but I want to make a trip and see how we do first. There are a few punch list items and we will be in for some warranty work on the in dash radio soon. So far, though loving this!

Our IN-Dash radio did not work with our adapter to use an I-Phone and google maps. That was one of the items that needed fixing.

This spring it did not work at all. I checked the chassis fuses (both under hood and under dash).

After pulling 1/2 the dash apart to remove the radio I discovered a small fuse on the back of the radio above the main plug. It had blown.

Changed that and they had fixed the I-Phone interface.

Angry

How did this thread go from Ceiling Fans to steering stabilizers to radios. How about staying with the subject so future searches won't need to wade through this hijacked thread.

Ceiling (vent) fan mod

I just installed two 200mm super quiet computer case fans in the two vents that did not have fans in them.
So far they work great in the driveway!
