check your Dometic Brisk Air for a loose baffle

If you have a recently built Dometic air conditioner similar to the Brisk Air you might want to pull the air control panel and check for a loose baffle. We ordered our coach with the two air conditioner option which deletes the 15K BTU single unit up front and adds two 11K BTU units with an energy management system. We are not sure if what we found is isolated to the 11k BTU units but we suspect that any Dometic unit that looks like the Brisk Air would have the same mechanical design. While installing the Wacko Silencer we discovered that these units have a baffle that separates the input air and output air chambers and this baffle is only held in place by double sided tape. On both our units this baffle was loose and dropped down leaving very little isolation between the two chambers. This not only reduces the efficiency of the unit but will increase the fan noise that enters the coach. Furthermore when we pushed the baffle back into place we noticed it still did not completely separate the two chambers plus had a large gap on each side that allowed the duct system ports to open into the return air side. We have a lot of experience with HVAC systems and have done two DIY systems in our home. We have lots of left over stuff from those two projects like foil tape. We sealed off the baffle with foil tape completely isolating the two chambers and noticed a significant increase in air flow from the duct system and reduced noise. Some of the duct registers actually spewed out debris that had been lying in the duct.
