First trip success

Well, as a newbeys,my wife, daughters and I successfully completed our first trial run in our THOR ACE 30.2.
We only traveled a couple of hours from S/W Ohio to Southern Indiana on the Ohio river. great trip. No issues. All hook ups successful. R/V was outstanding.
The Ford gas V10 did very well as I could tell.
Using the open air antenna in a rural area was challening, but expected. But even that wasnt all bad. We didnt go to watch TV. The storage units proved
perfect with more than enough room. I was actually somewhat glad it rained for awhile so I could inspect it for dryness...no water.
Look forward to venturing out further after first service run.
Blessings to all!
The Riggs'

Congratulations on your maiden voyage and glad you had a great time.

This is the first year we have owned our motorhome, and we also decided to take a few short trips to shake down the rig...

which quickly turned into a 1,000 mile trip.

We too did our first trip. I installed a backup camera while on the road; added roof fan enclosures, and resealed the front markers light as they filled with water. Only did 150 miles but average 10 mpg, with a toad,
in our 2014 Four Winds 26A with the E350 V-10.

Congrats Tim on your first trip.

It rained on our first couple trips, and I'll admit to having the same wierd joy! I actually test drove it in a thunderstorm so i caould see how well it handled in the wind.... Positives to every negative!

I'm glad it went well for you!

Must be a trend we took our Four Winds 23u for test run about 100 miles stayed overnight. It was great and everything worked great. Doing a second run Saturday.

Awesome you guys!!! I try to put owning an RV into the perspective of being on a ship( spent 4 yrs in Coast Guard years ago). Many systems on board, and anything can happen.
Dont become discouraged. Learn to fix minor things . I've spent more time studying my coach than driving it so far. Makes life alot easier.
Happy travels!!!

Congrats you guys! Hope it provides many more years of travels and happy camping. Know what you mean Tim about spending the time studying the manuals and bells and whistles!
