Question on rodents during storage

New to RVing, I have other vehicles such as my keep I store in he winter and every year without fail the mice nest in the air cleaner housing. I'm concerned about my class A motor home that this could be a much bigger issue and I was wondering if anyone has any experience and advice on how to prevent this ?

Welcome to the forum! This has been discussed here and on the IRV2 forum, too. Try the search feature, and you'll find some ideas.

Peppermint oil kept my rig free of unwanted guests this year. I've also used it when storing my motorcycle.

I purchase boxes of moth balls (3 bags in a box) and throw a bag in each storage compartment as well as the battery bank and I place 2 bags in the engine area.

I have never had to use anything in the coach itself. This past year I failed to put any in the generator compartment and they packed the area with nesting debris...total cost to repair...$1,700.00.

Moth balls work!

I have used original Irish Spring soap with good results. I cut the bars in pieces and place them throughout the coach.

It is important to use the Original Irish Spring. DO NOT use the variety with Aloe. There are many reports of rodents eating this type.

Fabric softener sheets you use in a clothes dryer are also reported to work if they are scented.

I used fabric dryer sheets in my old motorhome. The mice left the dryer sheets alone as they left their droppings all over them heading to the kleenex box that they shredded into bedding.

It is true mice don't like dryer sheets but they do NOT keep them from entering your RV.

Moth balls work!

Tie a feral cat up under the coach and do not feed it.

you forgot the night vision goggles.

Years ago I had rodents in the attic making noise at night. Made me so mad... I had visions of sitting in the attic with a bb gun and night vision, channeling my inner Bill Murray
