Compartment weather stripping

Since day one, the weather stripping on my outside kitchen would curl up and partially stick to the door itself rather than the surround. I replaced the weather stripping with automotive type stripping after thoroughly cleaning the surround.

A few openings and closings and once again the weather strip is rolled around and sticking partially to the surround and to the top of the door letting water in. So I remove it once more, clean it and replace it. The problem isn't the weather stripping, it is the way the door closes. If you look, at the top of the surround, the closing of the door rolls against the weather strip forcing it by shear to roll up. I have solved this problem by coating the part of the weather strip that is contacted and rolls with Vasoline. So far so good. I imagine any lube that will remain on the surface would work just as well.

Oh, the outside TV closes the same way as the kitchen. It is seldom used and the weather strip has not rolled up yet so it got the Vasoline treatment as well.
