Converting manual to electric awning

Good Morning everyone. Well, in a couple of days, if all goes right, we will actually be in our 30.3. They have some issues that have held us up, but so far warranty issues. Just puts us behind OUR power curve! We THOUGHT we had an electric awning, but oh no we don't, it is a manual. We want to go to electric tho as we are getting old and decrepit. Carefree has a conversion kit, but it says it is only for Carefree and A & E. Our awning is a Dometic. I went to our parts department here where we have purchased the coach, but it appears their parts department guy is not up to the task. Any ideas????

16ACE27, I echo your question. Here is the answer. Unbeknownst to us, when we bought the ACE 30.3 we had looked at so many that some things sort of went out the window. When we finally decided we wanted the ACE 30.3 (we were strapped by how much money we could put out) we ended up with a 2019 ACE 30.3 RENTAL. Evidently they cut out a lot of the things, i.e., Side view Camera, Electric Awning, Outside TV among the few things. Our fault for not noticing these things when we decided this was the coach. Not their fault. Of course they didn't bother to tell us this was a Rental Coach either. We are OK with it, I want you to know that. Thusly we want to try and get an electric awning.

Awww yes: "RENTAL" is the key word. You are lucky, normally a rental does not even have an awning.

In my years of RVing i had have both manual and electric awnings. Electric is nice an easy but much flimsier than the manual and you can really strap the manual down with ground anchors to handle higher winds than the electric can. They really aren't a lot of work to deplao and if I was in your shoes I would probably just stick with the manual.

I’d call Dometic directly and ask them. I’d guess that it might not be upgradeable, but what do I know?! I sure understand about encroaching decrepitude so maybe you could replace the entire awning just as cheaply as upgrading it would be anyway
