CW’s multipoint inspection

There may be more threads of generalized questions about the title above. My specific question is this. We bought our 2017 Thor Vegas 25.4 last December at a Camping World in Wisconsin. We were told by Camping World to bring it in for their multipoint inspection right before it’s one year warranty expires. We have used our rig for several trips and everything works great. We found an excellent local Ford truck repair shop that took care of a front end alignment problem early on and have had no problems with the chassis since then. Oops, sorry about the long lead in but here is my question. With no problems at the present time, is it worth it to take our rig in for this inspection by CW? We also purchased all of the extended warranties on the coach so the coach is covered for several years. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Dr. Ray

Well on one hand: Everything is working ok (have you exercised everything in the coach?) so why would it need a checkout?

On the other hand: It is built by Thor and something may/will go wrong in the future: perhaps they will find something?

Maybe maybe not: I'm still finding minor build things with ours at 4+ years.

Basically if you're comfortable without taking it in: Don't. (Especially since this is Campingworld we're talking about here!)

either you have a special 'warranty' that requires them to 'inspect' your coach each year to preserve your future claims, OR they are providing proactive customer service, OR they are looking to find anything still covered by the factory warranty that they can 'service' for you....

if they do this free of charge, and can do it the same day, within a short wait...sure, why not. If you require you to drop it and leave it, then absolutely NOT!

Bought our Quantum at a Camping World in Indiana last October, was never told anything about a required multi point inspection just prior to the one year mark. If you're happy with how everything is working I believe I'd take a pass.

What is "Peace of Mind" worth to you?

If it was me: I'd take it in.

Not to mention the things that require service that are not covered by warranty like resealing the roof.

I know that with our new RV: we get two free annual "walk-throughs". They won't fix what they find for free; but they will at least let you know what they find...

It's about getting a set of "better trained eyeballs"; to take a look at your rig.

Thanks to all that replied to my ?

A big thanks to all that replied to my original Thread. It seems like the majority of responses are against taking my rig to CW. I'm going to take a pass on the CW multipoint inspection. There is literally nothing to tell them that needs fixing. I'm sure something will break down the road but every system is working now and I'm pretty mechanical and have learned a lot from the Forum. We also towed a large 5th wheel in our prior life and there were a lot of lessons learned about that rig. Thanks again to all that replied. Dr. Ray

I wouldn't take my coach back to Camping World unless it was the last place on earth and I was paralyzed from the neck down.

Taking it to CW will create no less than 7 issues that you don't currently have!! They service my coach and damage more than they fixed. Thor had to take over my warranty work and fix all the issues that CW created. I would not do it if i were you !!

We delivered it to the Dealer this morning. Great rig, and we'll miss it; the new one will better fit our needs.

Wish you the best with your new one. And honestly, we're thinking about trading too.
