Okay: I admit that I've always let the Dealerships handle the Winterizing, and De-Winterizing chores. I've always been nervous about forgetting something, and ending up with a real mess...
But we're getting ready for our Memorial Day Weekend trip, and there's no time for the Dealer to interviene...
So I pulled the rig over to where I could get some "City Water" into it. Hooked it up, turned on the water, and I learned that the Truma instant hot water system should be by-passed!
Water coming out of the side of the rig from it's mooring location. Quickly flipped the switch to bypass, and things got back to normal...
I ran hot and cold facets in all four locations (kitchen sink, outside and inside showers, and bathroom sink), and flushed the toilet until it ran clean. I put the coach water filter in place (forgetting the rubber o-ring...), and learned another meaning of the term "wet bay"...
I found the o-ring laying on the driveway, and quickly slipped it into place.
Now for the Truma... I put the filter in it, butoned it up, and turned the water system back to it's normal operation setting...
...Nothing more leaked, nothing busted, and the Truma was making GALLONS of hot water: even with a 40 psi pressure regulator in place!
That thing a miles ahead of the Gerard systems...
We'll have to wait to see if I'm this brave in the Fall...
