Windshield Replacement

I have a 2013 Thor Tuscany xte40, where or who can recommend a company to replace the windshield.

I went to get it out yesterday and there is a crack about center bottom extending up 8in and hooks a right for another 8in.

I called our local safelight dealer and they don't work on class A motorhomes, But from what I have experienced in working on Semi trucks the aftermarket windshields that a lot of glass companies use is thinner than the oem ones are and, always a issue with them leaking after replacement.

I don't know what cracked it or if my insurance will cover it yet but I do want the oem windshield and the nearest dealer and also where we bought it is Paul Sherry's in Piqua Ohio about an hour south of me.

I just read your post from this past May. How did you resolve your windshield issue? I have a 2016 ACE and took a rock to the windshield this past Friday. Going to start searching for a place to get it replaced. I live north of Dayton so not too far from you. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I called safelight first and they said they don’t do class a motorhomes and all service glass did it but took them almost 2 months to get it in.

Hi all - we have a Miramar 34 took a rock on Highway 2 by the Canadian border. I fixed it temporarily with permatex window repair kit. Its just a matter of time before it’s done. I will look into a replacement , please reply if you guys had any luck

When our Axis was less than 6 months old, we caught a chunk of landscaping timber in the lower center of our windshield….
Our Insurer went through SafeLite, who in turn referred us to Binswanger Glass..location near us was in Independence , Missouri.(Binswanger is a national company)...They did a terrific job...including re-gluing the upper edge of the seal...and we have 2 chip repairs included when needed.
….keep in mind that any business is only as good as those who work there...

Be sure, when you begin this process...to take a photo of the glass size, etc. information on the windshield...ours was in the lower middle. It saves a lot of time.

Good luck and keep us posted.

If you have Binswanger Glass in your area check with them. When we had our windshield issue in 2016 our Insurer referred us to SafeLite, which in turn referred us to Binswanger. Because of the unusual size and shape of our windshield, I took a photo of the glass information in the center of the windshield and sent it to them. They ordered the glass directly from the mfg. We are very happy with their work.
