dirty laundry

I entered another persons motorhome (same floor plan, different brand), and she did not have any sign of a place she puts her dirty laundry. I am always tripping over my laundry basket. there must be a better way! I have a 27 foot Thor Vegas.

Where is a way to store dirty laundry out of the way?

Which model Vegas do you have? (27 foot doesn't really pin it down since you could be talking about the 25.5 which is 27' or the 27.7 which is 28' or even 25.2 or 25.6 which both are 26' 6" and round up to 27')

On our 24.1 there are two storage "holes" under the drivers side bed; the larger of which we use as a laundry hamper.

Question

I do not have a storage "hole" under the full size bed, unless I lift the bed up and the wooden base. Not sure I want to do that. But I will think about it.

Don't you have a fire-pit at your campsite?

The "hole" as Bob refers to it is a great place but being realistic if in a CG we prefer to use their water over our water. A "navy-style" laundry bag is kept in the shower for dirty laundry.

And if we use the Vegas shower we put the laundry bag on top of the toilet during that evolution.

We keep ours in the shower also...
But isn't snooping around for a laundry bag; kind of like peeking into a host's medicine cabinet?

I did not snoop, I was invited.

I did not snoop. I just realized later, many days later, that how neat and clean her motorhome was, with no laundry in sight. I do not remember if I looked into her bathroom. I want to get better at being neat and clean.

But that is the "out of the way" place that works and where we have our laundry basket as well. If you install pneumatic arms on the wood cover (and beef up the hinge) you can lift the bed with one hand and shoot for 2 points with the other straight into the basket. So easy our 7 year old grandson can do it.

We use mesh laundry bags. One is kept in the shower for daily use and the other in an outside storage bin. We only keep a day or two of soiled items inside the RV before transferring them outside. The bags are washed along with the clothes and used to transport the clean clothes back to the RV from the laundromat.

We do similar - either small laundry basket and/or mesh bag in shower for laundry depending on trip. Easy enough to pull out to shower - and out of the way the rest of the time.

She saw you coming and probably stuffed it in the oven and microwave.

We use a kitchen size trash bag and keep it in front of the passenger seat. Its out of the way and guests dont know whats inside it

I'll never install a washer/dryer so we use that huge floor to ceiling closet for laundry basket, kitchen trash can and a ton of other no-so-heavy items. It's on the "mile long slide".

It's true that they're not an absolute necessity...

But they sure can still be pretty darn useful!

They use a lot of water and add tons of weight. My space is in the center of the full wall slide. Not gonna mess with adding that much weight to a perfectly good operating slide.
