Do you need 110v to run the heater? '18 Sunsport

We were late getting our reservation in for the Halloween campout so we will be in the primitive campground. I don't mind running the genset during the day, but I respect my fellow campers and turn off the genny at night. But as it will be cold, will my furnace run on 12v and will it kill the batteries? It does have one heck of a noisy forced air fan. I found nothing in the manuals except move lever, wait for heat.

You think it will be cold in central Florida in October? Maybe, but not likely. And yes, your furnace only needs 12 volts to run.

I'm assuming you were talking about the Thor rally at the St Johns RV/Marina near Deland the last weekend this month.

Your furnace will run fine on 12 volts and propane, but the noisy fan you mentioned will consume a fair amount of your battery charge, depending on how much it has to run. You may find your house batteries flat in the morning, but you should get though most of the night on battery power. You will soon find out.

October in central Florida? You'll want your air conditioner running.

Defiantly short sleave weather. If it were to come on it wont be running for long periods of time.

About that noisy fan. Yes, it is. To avoid the noise we have a couple of light quilts we use and put the thermostat down really low. When we go to the mountains in fall we throw a couple of sleeping bags (old colemans) that zip together on the bed and put the thermostat on lowlowlow. Great sleeping conditions! Lowest temps we usually deal with outside are mid to high 30s. This is in GSMNP where you are asked to only run your generator 2hrs/day. I have an old fashioned aluminum drip coffee pot I use to make coffee on the stove in the morningt. One burner on the stove being used to boil water takes the chill off in the Axis. Small is good.

We've camped in cold weather and only used comforters on the twin beds. Kept us plenty warm at night. In the AM we cranked up the furnace for a few minutes to take the chill off. Our 2015 Vegas must be well insulated because it holds the warm pretty well. We do a lot of Fort Wilderness camping (because we live in Tampa and have Disney resident season passes). My propane tank is at 1/2 full from the original service when I bought it in Aug 2015.

! LOL We went through 1 full tank of propane on our very first camping trip with the Axis: April in MI didn't get warmer than freezing the whole weekend.
