Forgot to check for slide obstructions

All hooked up and ready to extend the bedroom slide, confirmed outside clearance was good, DW pushes Extend and slide goes out about 10 inches and comes to a halt and cocked sideways. We both did not notice the left closet door had opened thus jamming itself behind the right side of the bed wall..Ok so lets try and retract and start over, no response from the motors. Gee, not a good way to start a weekend! But thanks to having seen previous posts on slide problems I knew I could reset and re-sync the schwintex slide.
Now the hard part.. Thor had installed the slide controller behind the storage compartment wall but too far from the access panel making it impossible to push the reset button. Time for a cup of coffee and a Camel...Now I crawl in and blindly find the 1 screw holding the controller box and remove it so I can move it where it needs to go for easy access. Push the button 6 times then hold for 3 seconds on the 7th time and back in business.. Now We can retract. After 4 times extending about 12 inches and retracting it is back in sync. The obvious lesson here is look before you push but secondly fix those little Thor design issues before they bite you. I had previously seen that the controller was in a bad spot and put moving it on my list of things to do.... Now I can add "put a latch on closet door" to that list.

Glad to hear that you got around this problem!
I hope that there was no damage to the door...

Thanks Bob, that door seems to be the strongest part of the coach ! It would make a great slide lock when traveling, I am really surprised it did not crush it and break the mirror..

The slides really ought to have a safety feature like most modern garage door openers, where if they meet a certain level of resistance they automatically reverse and go back to the position they started in. That would include when you're retracting the slide. I destroyed a brand new footstool when one of our slides crushed it between the slide and the foot of the bed. Imagine if that obstruction had been a child or a pet!

Wow! Even the mirror survived the unfortunate event...
