The Driveway

The evolution started today. He still has some dozer work to do but everything to the right of the garage (as you look at the pic) will be 6" of concrete and it goes back about 11/12'. Electrician already installed the 30 amp service.

We wanted it on the other side of the house but the city said "Only 1 driveway per house".

Looks like it will be a great addition. I wish my HOA would allow me to park it in my driveway.

If I have to, I can put the Thor in the backyard. She's 8'8" wide and the gate is 9'. Might take a can of Crisco to do it.

Me too! I hate having it at a storage lot.

HMS Thor is in a storage lot for the next month while this sets. Don't like looking outside and not seeing her.

1st thing I did when we retired to PCB last February was tear out the old driveway and pour a new one...50' X 37', 6" of 2500 PSI with fiber. Driveway is bigger than the house. Love having her close-by. Tried the storage lot for 2 months and the coach started dying.

Ours isn't that big. 30' wide, 35' deep and an additional 9' goes up past the garage but it's the reinforced 6" concrete. We also added 30 amp service outside to plug her in. Just have to wait a month to park her at home. Concrete guy we've used before. Next thing will probably by a carport for her.

Guy who poured it: "It will hold my dump truck and it weighs about twice what your RV does"

We pick her up from storage Thursday evening and drop it off for her physical and to get a couple of things taken care of. Friday night she'll be home and on June 2nd, we head to Elizabeth City for our sons graduation from USCG school.

I have to settle for gravel.

Nothing wrong with gravel. Many campground sites are gravel.
