Smile Ducky was WRONG ! AKA, matter is settled.

Hey, all, regular readers might remember my Return for refund thread. Since that was closed, I'll update you with a new thread, and what I am allowed to say with the agreement. I am back to shopping, because I no longer own a motorhome. The dealer wants me to say, the 'matter is settled', so thats what I'll say. Took 17 weeks or so to get to that point. I have learned ALOT about the motorhome industry. About the dealers AND the Manufacturers. I found, with help from some of you, a lawyer who has 6 people that work for him, and the ONLY thing they do is motorhome and travel trailer returns. Thats the whole practice. Turns out I didn't need them, but if you DO, I can give you the name, send me a PM. And I can explain, privately, how reversal of acceptance works, and why you might, or might not, want to go that route. I will recommend that we, as owners or former owners, do a better job of explaining what these things are like, and how the buying process works. If only I had known about a predelivery inspection, I would have asked for one. The whole long drawn out battle would not have had to happen. I will add that we should INSIST on a water test, slide in and slides out. If they won't or can't don't buy it.

Now, on to the Duck, yes, I recieved a paper tag when I left the dealer. I still have the tag, If I can figure out how, I'll post a picture of it.

Yes, a motorhome can be returned if it is defective, or the dealer misrepresented it.

Yes, you have leverage with payments. If you stopped paying on something, and explained that the item is defective, the bank might actually HELP you with your dispute. But I had paid in full. Maybe that was not smart.

And most importantly, the pinnacle of human achievement occured in 1967, when Carrol Shelby, working with Ford, put a 427 Medium Riser into a Mustang fastback. This car had a 4 spd manual trans and a 2.47 axle gear. It was used for 24 hr, 150mph + tire testing. It was an awesome car. Because this worked SO well, Some dealers, like Tasca Ford, began putting the 427 into Mustangs, if you had the deep pockets required. If you think there is something else humans have done anywhere on the planet that rivals this, I would like to know ! LSG

Congratulations.
I couldn't be happier for you.
I don't have the stamina for what you did.

Can we see some link to the mustang so I can educate myself?
I used to own a shelby pre mustang 64 comet test mule and owned a 64 comet which set the speed records.(I'm not a comet fan, I'm a unicorn fan. As you know I know little about Ford and care nothing about Shelby)
I've also owned a handful of other unicorns.

Another Shelby lesser known: "The Sunbeam Tiger is a high-performance V8 version of the British Rootes Group's Sunbeam Alpine roadster, designed in part by American car designer and racing driver Carroll Shelby and produced from 1964 until 1967." (re: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunbeam_Tiger). Lest we forget the AC Cobra.

My Dad had a 62 Healy Sprite with a 283 and a Muncie. A lot of front end work to carry the weight. It was quick. At the same time, his friend had a 66 Nova (Chevy II) with a factory supplied 396 and a rock crusher. I was 10. It was the fastest thing I'd ever been in up to that time. My first car was a 71 Plymouth Road Runner with a 383 magnum,4spd, tunnel ram and two fours, block was decked 5k and heads 5k, forged pistons and 12.5:1 compression. Dana 60 and ladder bars. She could jump a Coke bottle and often did on cruise night. Only car that could beat her was a 71 429 Boss Mustang and then only by a fender.

Ahh those were the days. Took everything you had to get into the 10's. Now you can 700+ hp from the factory.

A triumph spitfire with a tired 327 and powerglide was my equivalent to your dad's car.
It just warped the front end so bad. It was gusseted with angle iron found at ghost mines.

Yeah, didn't take much to twist those front ends. They had to be beefed up quite a bit - the suspension as well or the wheels would never stay aligned.

I still have a soft spot for spitfire.
If I ever need a towed, and I hope to never need a towed, a miata based spitfire is probably the choice I'll make.

I had one 10.98 sec car.
A 1969 Dana 427 camaro.
128mph@10.98... Not me driving. It hit 128 about 3/4 down the track and then you held it there. I have a time slip arojnd here somewhere from ocir.
I didn't put fifty miles on it all the time I had it. To sacry, too little talent, too much car.
I'm a rsr guy, not a drag guy.
But it was a unicorn and I was going to own it.
Your dad was a more talented guy than I, but I did pull 1g in a corner when that was a rarity.

Some Twin stick dodge colts came with a008's from the factory....

I'm not much of a car guy anymore. It's a been there done that, too many stories top too many other people's stories for me to even mention the cars at a campfire bull session, thing.

It's a very great rarity I mention the cars. It's a giant rarity when I open the photo album.

But the 10second street car and the little car big engine of your dad's was just too tempti g and coincidental.

LOL. Guess you don't want to hear about my 68 pro street Camaro then...with dual funny car roll cages...

Here's the last car I owned before hitting the road full time.
1987 Amerisport Pantera GT5S - #9469. Three step hand rubbed black acrylic lacquer.

This is the only turd
That
Unused
Rarely
Driven
Car I have left.

I thought there was a slimmest chance of it being Cunningham five, so I bought it. I was wrong. It just sits there, like most turds do.

I have always been jealous of someone small enough to comfortably drive a Pantera or a lambo. That shelby comet was bought while I was on a trip to pick up a lam o Espada someone had put a Ford 390 into. When I saw the documentation from the woman who had bought the test mule for her 64th birthday, I never made it to the lambo. She had no idea, I had no idea. She had the order from the dealer for Shelby to return the car.

I had a Lancia Stratos. It was fairly miserable.
There's a reason abarths had bubble tops.

My dream car?
An iso rivolta. I passed them up when they were cheap.

The hybrids like your Pantera(do you call it Pantera or mangusta? Or am I off on the make? ) and facel Vega's are just about me summed up in a car.

My favorite car I've owned:
A unicorn 55 Studebaker president speedster especially remade by Studebaker for a new Mexico Studebaker dealer.

The daily driver I'd own if I were stone cold stupid?
Gold Citroën Maserati.

You'll be impossible for me to top. That's how I like to talk cars. I'd much rather be the lesser in the conversation about cars.

Luckily I was outbid on this.
This or an old autocar 4x4 super c was the plan.
Then we discovered the 24.1 and said 'forget all that other crap I said, this is what I me at all along',added the 4x4,unfortunatley found out there's no aftermarket stuff to get 600hp from a v10... And here we are.

I still kinda wish I had bought that rv. There's a similar one right here in Williams but it has a curved windshield and I'll never buy another old project with a curved windshield. And I have since found out that age matters in some rv parks....

I have to assume breeze knows about
Bringatrailer.com
It s where I found the rv.
It's where I found the little ginetta I am fortunate to have been outbid on.

It was for years my go to for the truly odd cars.
Too tempting, so I quit.

I promised the spousal unit only one project at a time.
Right now the 24.1 is taking all of my project juujuu.
That delahey looking car ibob posted is spectacular.
I should have bought the talbot Lago kit car(simila4 vein to that long car) when it was available, but we have the one project rule and I was working on a Kent Fuller 23t bucket(a unicorn) build. It was sold to someone clueless as to what it was when I bought the 'not a cunningham' (and I had slipped a 72 AMC javelin sst 401 four speed into the yard so I was already at stressed levels)
Before that was chenwoth sandrails and tow'd buggies. (we don't talk about Volkswagen stuff anymore than a felon does his time with big Sally at the jail).
Before that were the merkurs....

The turd has a 78 or 79 whatever year was that anniversary monstrosity, corvette 305 in it.
It had a whopping 160hp from the factory. It's tired now with a th350 that I don't think has ever seen third gear.
I used it as a veritable golf cart in lake Havasu city.
It was my daily driver. 35mph speed limits in town.

I bet and lost, so I just drove the thing.
Too scary here with 65mph speed limit, potholes, elk and internet phony international drivers licenses being the greater here.

It's garage art now.
(those are real first Gen centerlines and the front tires are stock size 71 beetle tires)
