"Evicted" from CW

Our rig has been at Camping World in Kissimmee, FL for about a week for warranty work.

Just got a call from them asking me to remove it from their lot due to the impending hurricane, as they say they cannot be liable for any storm damage while it's on their lot.

Works out okay for us; this way it will be in our driveway where we can access the generator if the house power goes out, and also can use the propane stove and fridge if needed.

Central Florida folks, stay safe! See ya on the other side.

Bringing ours home from storage tomorrow. It's plan 'B' if we loose power. I have a 4500w generator to keep the home refers, Beermister, and freezer running, but not the a/c in 90+ weather so that will move us into the rv for sleeping. Anyhow good luck to all in Florida.

We just signed up for a whole-house generator today. But it will be a few weeks before it is installed.

And following the usual pattern for us, we will probably never have another power failure in our lives. If that holds true, our fellow Central Floridians can show their appreciation by sending us stacks of $50 bills.

Gassed mine up today. Bringing it to the house Saturday. It's part of the plan:
Plan A: Storm moves through, no power loss.
Plan B: Loose power, start up home portable generator.
Plan C: Loose power, start generator, eventually run out of gas, start up the RV.
Plan D: loose power, start gen, run out of gas, move into RV.
Plan E: Start up RV and head north. This could easily become Plan A Saturday morning.

I looked into that a few months ago. If the cost of gen and install wasn't bad enough, running on propane costs about $90 per day and being limited by the size of the tank. If we had natural gas here, that would have been a game changer for me.

Be safe.

Let's all hope that storm damage is minimal, and that everybody survives unscathed!

Not to make light of a serious situation: but I hope it's more like this.

Hope all are safe during the storm!
The title of your post reminded me of a line from the movie "O Brother, Where Art Thou?". Something like "Are we evicted from all Woolworths, or just this particular Woolworths?).
Good movie to watch while your riding out the storm...

This is one of my all-time favorite movies (despite not being a George Clooney fan). I really enjoy the music and the goofy plot lines.

Simply don't understand why CW would want you to remove your RV in for repairs stating they didn't want the liability of the storm damage issue. Don't know who is running things at that branch but I can tell you they are not legally responsible for any "storm" damage your RV could get on their property, you pay private insurance for that coverage because it is included in a full coverage policy. Probably Marcus the "cash grab guy" ordering his people to do that so he could avoid any potential arguments.

No. It is so the warranty start clock starts from 0 when the coach is brought back for repair after the storm. The decision is more than likely one made by the service or general manager at the CW. They will come back from the storm with 0 backlog in service.

Pretty misleading subject...
I’m neither a Pro or Anti CW groupie but it seems to me that they were just doing the right thing by letting you know what the extent of their insurance is even if your insurance on the rig would cover you.

There's nothing wrong with them trying to clear their lots and bays for what could be a major storm.
If they were right at "Ground Zero": wouldn't you expect them to want to be able to get back up and running A.S.A.P.?
Having lots of customers screaming at them about storm damage would only hamper their efforts.

ICYMI....the hurricane didn't come anywhere near Central Florida. Got an email from CW on 9/5 asking me to bring the coach back to them.....on 9/18.

So I asked the service adviser when it will finally be looked at. Seems they have to do "diagnostics" on it when I take it back, then figure out what parts and how much time will be required, get approval from Thor, wait for the parts to arrive, get the parts installed......

By the time I get it back, hurricanes will not be a problem. It's more likely Central Florida will be experiencing blizzards by then.

Tell them to contact you after diagnostics so you can get it back if needed while waiting for parts. CW near me has been very good about that. They always let me know that I can pick it up anytime I want it while waiting for parts or outside contractor (windshield) to be scheduled.
