Exterior propane connection on 2019 Thor Aria 3601
I just purchased a new 2019 Thor Aria 3601 and would like to know if there is an exterior propane connection in my unit. I traded in a 2016 Thor Ace 29.3 that had the outside kitchen with quick connect propane for my grill. I asked the Tech that was demonstrating our unit and he did not know and could not find a propane connection. Also, is there a built in surge protector? I guess I am going to call this am and see if someone there can answer my questions.

You can physically look along the bottom edge of the MH, mostly on the passenger side. It should be relatively easy to see. You can also crawl under the coach and follow the lines from the propane tank. But, you are right in that the easiest way is to call Thor Customer Service with VIN.

Not sure about the 3601 but my 2019 3901 does not have one, I was surprised. I called Thor just to be sure I didn't miss it but they confirmed that it does not. So I added an extend-a-stay.

They might even have parked it behind a small door...
I don't believe that Thor puts surge protectors in their RVs as standard equipment... But I've been known to be wrong about this stuff!
Do yourself a favor, and get a Progressive EMS...

Hi Carole,
No, the Aria's do not come with the propane connection. Like Grizz, I added ny own. Aria's do come with surge protection built in. It is in the bay with your power cord. The big black box the cord goes into. I believe it is made by Surge Guard and also protects against low or high voltage and miss-wired connections. Enjoy your Aria, we sure do.

Easy to add propane access. Easiest would be right after the regulator where you can replace a right angle fitting with a “tee” fitting. Point it down and you can connect through the propane tank access door and still use it with the door closed.

As mentioned the surge protection is built in. I contacted Surge Guard and they confirmed that an EMS unit is not needed - though they did suggest that one of their surge protection units could be of value, and one of their units cost $120-$140
I’m looking at the extend-a-stay unit - is this a pretty easy installation?
Enjoy your new rig - we really enjoy our Aria!

The extend-a -stay is a VERY easy install. Making sure you have the right hose and fittings to your gas appliance is a little more complicated, but still easy to put the pieces together.

Question... If you are adding a propane hook-up, and bringing the line from your tank: Should you regulate it at the source... or at your stove?

I guess it depends on what you want to do and what you get, the camco propane adapter also has an input, along with an output, to connect a 20lb or whatever size propane tank to it. You would want to install it before the built in regulator on the tank on your MH (or trailer or 5th) and regulate at your external appliance (fire pit, grill).
This way if you did connect and external tank it would be regulated to the inside of your RV. Don't want high pressure propane going to your water heater, fridge, stove and what not. Easier to regulate at the external appliance. IMHO.

Mine is downstream of the coach regulator as I use it for an Aussie grill that came with an RV I once had (kept it when we traded) that is unregulated. But I can see value in having it on the other side as well.
