Sealed Batteries vs FLA

Just got back from a trip that we had to take a detour off the highway to avoid an accident.

The battery compartment got dusted and would really have been a mess with flooded batteries.

Wash down with the hose and will be ready to go again

The title to this thread should probably have read AGM vs FLA batteries. There is a common type of FLA battery that is sealed and is used as a starting battery on many vehicles, but is a poor deep cycle battery.

I will agree that getting rid of FLAs was one of the best things I did to my Hurricane. With AGMs it is much easier to keep the battery compartment clean.

Fla's are dinosaurs likely still produced because the molds won't wear out.
I don't think production costs are so less on Fla's to justify except molds are good and educating luddites is impossible.
