Flat towing a Jeep Grand Cherokee

Hello All

I am buying a 2018 Jeel Grand Cherokee and the GoodSam tow guide says the following:

Only 4WD vehicles equipped with Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II systems are towable.

The dealer says I don't need Quadra-Drive as this has to do with off-roading, but I am reluctant to deviate from the Dinghy Guide.

Any thoughts on who is right?

Try looking at the owner's manual and see what it says regarding flat towing. Also, just as a general statement, I would trust the Dinghy guide above the word of the salesman, as the Dinghy guide has nothing to gain. Just a thought.
Craig.

If it has a transfer case with a neutral position then you are good to go.

are you stating that Jeep's manual/info states that the vehicle must have 'BOTH' of these systems to be flat-towable? the 'AND' you have underlined...

The towing guide says both, but the car manual makes no reference to the 'Drive' part.

I tow Jeep Cherokee 2015 it has the active II trans manual was right for flat toe. Easy to hook up. With being said there was a problem with Jeep electronic steering in tow was not getting power and caused the vehicle to wobble. Jeep came up with a fix.Now there is an extra step a fuse and switch

QT2 and QD2 are two separate systems. They differ from Qt1. QT1 doesn't have a real transfer case.
