Florida winter trip

This will be a first for wife and I. We are looking for a place in Florida for about four weeks to camp our Hurricane 35C Class A Motorhome. Coming from Maryland so will need one or two places for one night stop on the way. Would like to get far enough South for shirtsleeve daytime weather.
Any suggestions would be appreciated

Have you considered overnight stays in Wal-Mart parking lots on the trip down?

I’m sure you’ll find something- especially with many folks hunkered down at home due to the Rona. But the nice resort locations surely are all booked. One of our favorites books two years ahead for winter months and won’t take reservations for fewer than two months stay. We didn’t make reservations this winter and now are considering multiple shorter trips closer to home. Far enough to escape winter though. We’ll see. Good luck.

Hi Jim,
We've made that trip both ways many times. You didn't say which month you will be traveling which will make a difference about those short sleeve lay-overs. We usually try to make it to South Carolina. There's a nice camoground in Florence (one exit north) Used to be a KOA but not now. They have a nice lake and small store in the office. If you can't make it that far, Fayetteville, NC also has a nice campground just north of the main Fayettville exit. Now if you are really in for a longer drive, there are two campgrounds at Pointsouth, (Yemassee exit) about 30 miles before the Georgia border. From there southward, its all going to be short sleeves! Also, it depends on where you plan to end up in Florida as to which campgrounds are suggested. (That's assuming you already have reservations for that month long stay.) Let us know and I'm sure you will get enough suggestions to totally confuse you!
