Access to engine

Can someone tell me how to open the engine compartment on my Axis? I've unlocked both locks but it won't open! It should pull out and lower down correct?
I think I've found my problem with the AC! There's a hose hanging down under the drivers side dash! I think this is probably for the AC!

On our Axis I pull it a little at the top, but then have to reach down and pull out & down from the bottom of the grill to get it to open.

Thanks ! I finally got it open! It was very stiff so I greased it!
Unfortunately the hose hanging down was not the solution to my AC problems but I'm confused about its purpose! It's a large corrugated hose. Maybe it's for floor heat???

Sounds like a duct hose for the defroster.... The clamp must have come loose.

Axis earl- There doesn't appear to be anything to attach it to. It extends 4-5 inches and is directed towards the floor!
Strange!

I have one of those hoses. Try running dash heat and see if it isn't the footwell vent.

Tom Bowe Its reassuring to know that your MH has this also! I think it's for floor heat!
