Replacing Recliners with a Jackknife Couch

Hi All!
We have received our new 72" jackknife couch to replace two recliners made of the circa 2011-2016 faulty pleather. Would sure appreciate some advice on getting the recliners out and the sofa in. The opening is 72 inches. More interested in how to go about extracting the dual recliners with console that is there now. We have a 2016 Thor Hurricane 35c. Thanks in advance for the help!

The recliner's backs come off. Usually two bolts or knobs on each recliner back. The center section also come apart, but there is only one bolt. The rest are three sections on a steel frame about 67" x20"x 4" . My seats have one bolt from the frame and a couple clamps. Remove the bolt and push down and back and the seat separates from the frame. The frame is lagged to the floor in 6 places. My recommendation is take to a place that does RV interiors.

some recliners have backs that just snap into place...or plug in

try pulling straight up on the back

Jackknife Couch Install

We got it done with little to no issues. Recliners backs did come off. Unit was held in with 8 lag screws.
The legs on the couch are a joke - didn’t use them. Took about 45 minutes to design and build a platform from lumber that withstood a load of 600 lbs.
The stand put the couch at the standard seat height. Easy to secure the couch to the stand with lag screws.
Here is a picture of the finished product.

Why a jackknife sofa? I have found them to be uncomfortable to sit on and impossible to sleep on.
