No baffels in my 50 gal fresh water tank. It is a plain roto-molded poly translucent tank hung in the right forward basement compartment directly under the kitchen sink..

Since my travel trailer days I always start a trip with the water tank full.
You never know when you will need it and that appeases my OCD...

This gun/bullet analogy is leading me to believe you're pushing higher water pressure than most.

To save weight we always carry just under half a roll of toilet paper more than we estimated(on a spreadsheet) that we'll need and no more toothpaste than we need on the trip, with a toothbrush we'll share.
Potato chips are bought in big bags and placed in our own small zip lock bags so air-space isn't wasted.

We're adding a second 40 gallon fresh water tank.
Water is one of those things belonging in the category of:
More is more.
But
We didn't buy some rv with a silly weight limit.
The 24.1 has sssooo on many advantages

See that customized hole in the floor?
47 gallons raht thar.

Potato chip bags are filled with nitrogen not air, remember to save this for topping up your tires to decrease the weight of the tires on the ground

It's all in perspective, whether you are dry camping, or not. I got 4 5 gallon collapsible water jugs from wolverinetuff.com. I got their boondocking kit which had a cordless drill pump and hoses. I added one more jug to make 20 gallons. If need be, I can store another 20+ gallons and pump it in when I need it. Also looking at a 28 gallon waste tote. All for boondocking.

We can use all of 70 gallons for water because we use Angel Soft 2 ply Septic Safe toilet paper toilet. 1 Mega roll is equal to 4 regular rolls!!! Plus we let the kids toss the paper around in the coach while I am driving; so weight is non factor while suspended.

I like the ziploc bag idea for the chips I will try that next, previously I had been eating the chips just before the trip to save the space for fresh water.

I also carry cases of the Light beer; so that can't be a factor on my coach's weight.

Regardless of what I have in my coach, whether tanks are full or not, whether I run generator or not, it cost me a lot money to fill up, and I can only hit 80 mph downhill, maybe faster if tanks are full

Fresh water tank- lesson learned.

When I bought our Compass I decided to also buy some Weathertech floor mats to help keep the mess contained when getting in and out. Well this month on a trip we ended up on a terrible driveway leading to a restaurant and sure enough a large glass of soda ended up all over the floor liners and step wells. Was I ever happy to have the outside shower and plenty of water in my tank to clean up those mats rather than trying to clean up the sticky mess with cleaners and paper towels. Convinced me to make sure to always have water in the tank on a trip.

This will save about 4 grams per can or 6 oz over 2 cases. Gets you 2 more rolls of TP or a family size bag of chips.

50 to 55 psi...
But beieve it or not: I wasn't the one who brought up that analogy...
The Moderators were starting to really growl whenever guns were mentioned; so I was laying low.

This thread is hilarious!

As stated by someone else, the occ on 24.1 is impressive. We have carried as much as 60 gallons of water extra for muulti day events.

Carry what you feel comfortable/need for what you doing. Whole purpose of RV is independence. Be independent. Wife very, very happy to have house with us.

Weight/MPG? Has been our experience that most of our driving is in flat Florida with some trips to NC and ttrip to Finals in Tenn. Always 9 to 11 MPG with or without 5200 to 5500 lb double axle open racecar trailer. Record is 11.2 w/o trailer and 10.7 with trailer. The only time dipped below 9 was 6 degree grade going from Memphis TN to Ashboro NC when we got 8.7 MPG. Wind/speed biggest impact on MPG for our setup. I do not even remove 800 lbs of racecar stuff from compartments unless we need physical space when on vacation.

So if I carry an extra 2 cases; I would be saving twice as much (12 oz); and could load 4 more rolls of TP off the savings Wow my wife is gonna love this new plan, the sacrifices I am willing to make so she can have more Water & TP is endless.
