Good luck. I hope that it works for you. I have been very pleased with this method. Of course, you do have to occasionally deal with a damp cover in the morning, but I think it is worth that occasional hassle for the overall benefit of having the cover on the outside.

Mines about same as yours. I’ve done all the AC hacks. Bought Sun Shades for the windshield and front windows. When it’s 95 in the Southeast, nothing works. I’ve only got 1 ducted 13,500 Coleman Mach 3. I’ve got a new 2nd Coleman Mach 3 sitting in the barn. I’m going to install it in the front vent hole, and add a male plug to the exterior so I can plug it into the 20A pedestal plug.

Anyone try Flex Seal spray on their curtains for a quick fix?

I question if it would be flexible enough?

We need to test a piece. Besides, you know that ads always tell the truth. "One coat will do it."<tic>

Well if they can build a boat out of it: curtains should be easy.

The side curtain liners on our 2019 Thor Windsport 34J deteriorated by Summer 2020. My sister replaced the cheap fabric with Warm Window Insulated Shade Lining www.warmcompany.com and I just rehung them. Slightly bulkier but still fit perfectly and not only do they seem to keep it snug and quiet, it also blocks the light! I had to order replacement rollers which were probably not installed at the factory from www.curtain-tracks.comClick image for larger version

I believe there are coating processes that can help to reduce the amount of heat, created by all of the glass...

Infrared light won’t exit your RV through the windshield! So, your RV gets hotter in Summer, unless you block the sunlight with a windshield cover.
In Winter, a windshield cover will insulate the RV like putting a blanket on the windshield .
I have used my windshield cover for a decade and love its thermal properties.
Are you talking about Magna Shade? What cover did you buy?

Magnashade is one option. But at nearly 1 RV Buck
(aka...$1,000), I looked for a better option.

Photo 1 is Magnashade
Photo 2 & 3 is my creation (about $40). Takes a 4’ step ladder that I keep in rear storage compartment. Most supplies purchased at Harbor Freight (with the 20% coupon, of course!)

- 8’ x 10’ mesh tarp ($25 minus 20%)
- 3M hooks (I used one on top + one one each side top. Painted tan to match)
- 3M double stick tape (extra strong). Holds hooks better
- 2-4 lightweight bungee cords
- Lightweight bendable poles that run down each side (I used thin green plastic covered 4’ landscape poles at a yard center. But they must be bendable to conform to the shape of the front window)
- Sewing machine to make it uniform and create pouches on each side for the poles

Ours inside start falling apart 6 months after purchased, our service company order new set via thor under warranty. Was thinking of taking old set down to sew shop and get a new set made out of some real fabric!
