Great solution!

We are absolutely grateful for this reply. I am guessing that it is easy to get the old furniture out that narrow door and the new furniture inside? We are not handy people so that is the only problem that I see. When this cold snap ends, (we live in southern Alabama so cold snaps are only a day or two at the most) we will get out and measure the dinette and the jackknife sofa. Looks like we can get a better, larger sleeper if the inches measure correctly. Thanks for this posting. This makes perfect sense. Will be calling them next week.

So far we are in the lucky crowd with all the seats and furniture still looking like new with 5 years of use and the Theater seating gets the most use as well as traveling with a Westie. Ours is a 2016 built in late 2015 so we fall in the suspect Leatherette build time frame

I do treat it with either leather care products or 303 a couple times a year. All the top grain gets Lexol or Neatsfoot old twice per year

If you do purchase Leather, only get top grain, bonded leather will come apart and separate usually starting in three years or so with heavy use. We have top grain in the homes and it has stood the test of time.

Many folks don't realize the RV furniture comes in sections making it fairly easy to remove and install.

We have about 16yards(or 26 yards, I'm too saddened to double check) of bonded leather here on a roll.
Supplier lied about being split hide top grain, then folded their business.
We went ahead and bought new couches and didn't reskin with that crap bonded.
(I now have 8 linear actuators from the old recliners..Maybe rv hatches.)
I guess we're going to do the walls of the rv bedroom in oxblood red leather....

Buy hides shaped like cows.
Enjoy your free to you, $2100 to me, lesson.

If "upholstery cloth" on the sofa and dinette had been an option, I would have gotten it. I'd much rather have cloth than vinyl or bonded leather. I did opt to not get the "leatherette" option on the captains chairs. They will come with cloth.

Thank you! That was the answer I was needing about the rv furniture coming in sections. Was just wondering how to get the dinette out and if the jackknife sofa is attached to the wall. We also want to make sure the seat belts go in correctly since we will have car seats for the little ones. Di you know anything about this?

Seat belts go in perfectly.
The seats are designed well and pass through the door and then four or so bolts to put it back together.
The very worst happening will be a kicker board needed, a 2x4 in front of the sofa if your slide(if you put it in a slide) isn't deep enough.

There are number of youtube videos you can watch which will bring you to a comfort level you're comfortable with.

Do not think my link is the end all of furniture.
It's just a taste.
The sky is almost the limit.
Power leg rests on the front seats, air ride, power seats... It's a fun education you can completenin a few hours.

Search youtube for
Newell rv tour and take a look at the options available in seat coverings.

Good luck.
You have been a pleasure in this thread.

Slight aside
We were looking for front seats from an f150 king ranch.
We have about a 40,000 mile 'butt-time' in them and knew we'd be fine with them.
Wreck Car and truck seats are an option.
Lincoln 31 way seats were on the short list for a while.

These are about 4,000 for all. I'm sure there are many for less. shop4seats.com and you can pick many colors or fabric or leather

We had delamination on our dinette and jackknife couch...

I took the 4 dinette cushions and two sections of the jackknife couch (armrest and bottom panel) to a local golf cart enclosure company that a couple of years ago redid my enclosure trim for my golf cart. They recovered all 6 sections for $900 and they matched the existing tan pleather. As far as the driver and passenger front seats, I have ordered Scottsdale Tan seat covers for $210 both that will arrive in a couple of weeks. In my research I have heard great comments about the fit and durability of these covers which are manufactured to the specs of the seats you have in your vehicle.

I own a 2015 Windsport 34E and the upholstery in our unit was shedding also. I had it all reupholstered. We were lucky as our friend has a business doing upholstery. It still cost me plenty. There is a group that is looking into a class action suit against Thor.

In our Four Winds Hurricane we just removed the dinette bench seats and replaced them with chairs. We also removed the jacknife sofa and replaced it with a dual recliner love seat and replaced the OEM club chair with a eurostyle recliner. My wife found seat covers for the captains chairs on Amazon, in fact we got all of the replacement furniture on Amazon which saved a lot of money over what RV specific furniture cost. We didn't do this because the existing furniture was bad, it was all in extremely good shape. We made the swap so the coach would be better suited for us. I have saved all of the OEM furniture to reinstall when we sell it or trade it in down the road. Spent a weekend swapping everything out. It was pretty straightforward.

Furniture disintegration

I had the same issue as others. My suggestion is shop around and most likely you will find a shop that is more competitive than $3500. I paid $750 for both seats and $200 for kitchen seat backs to be done in Bryson City NC. Good luck!

It’s not a model specific issue or even a manufacturer specific one. It’s just the way a large percentage of RVs are made. It’s been that way for at least 7 or 8 years. There are many hundreds or thousands of cases. If the failure happens during the warranty period you usually can get it fixed for free - although it’s likely to be done with the same crappy stuff that also won’t last. It’s just something you’ll have to deal with - like buying new tires. Ridiculous, but there it is. I think there’s not much chance of success for legal action since there is no legal obligation to make durable finishes.

Furniture

We had the same problem with our motorhome. We took it to the Recovery Room in Riverside, CA and had the furniture that was in the motorhome recovered. He quoted $5000.00 for the drivers seat, passenger seat, large sofa, small sofa and booth dinette. The upgrade to Ultraleather was an additional $1,000.00. He did an excellent job. It's been 2 1/2 years now and it still looks brand new.

Hours of reading on this forum and others about this same problem. Flexsteel is now out of the RV furniture business.

Good on you for buying that warranty.

Can you tell those who didn't buy it how much it costs and why you bought it?
Maybe you can help someone decide.
