Freedom Elite 22FE Backup Camera light

Can anyone tell me if the Freedom Elite 22FE Backup Camera light is supposed to function as a brake light????

If it's the integrated horizontal bar shaped one with the camera near the center... yes. I believe the brand is "Rearview Safety" or something similar. It's a combo third brake light/backup camera.

Here's the one on our MH... It's fairly common on newer Thor class C motorhomes.

AND... I think I lied... I believe it's just a marker light which comes on when you turn on your lights... NOT a third brake light.

On the ACE it is a running light only. I tried to get this replaced but not in stock any more at CW.

So I dis- assembled and reworked with a horizontal strip of lights from Walmart

You can see there is a full horizontal set of lights vs the individual 3 (3 light) segments on the original.

Thanks to advice on this Forum, i was able to work this entirely from the external side of the RV. I removed, and resealed, re attached camera wire. When i removed the plastic cover, rusty water came out, indicating the seal had been broken.

Thanks yes I found out it is just a marker light with back up camera and not a tail light.

Can you elaborate on how you removed light from coach? Just a seal to pry loose? Thanks
