Generator not charging house batteries

The generator works, but it doesn't charge the house batteries. What buttons did I not see to press?

The generator does not directly charge batteries. The generator produces 120 VAC to the power distribution center to power things like the Air Conditioners, the Microwave, TVs and other outlets, and the Converter which charges the batteries through the battery disconnect switch (USE/STORE or Salesman Switch). The generator is a portable replacement for plugging your coach into a Shore Power (SP) receptacle. So to answer your question we need to know:

Do the batteries charge when on SP?
Do any other 120 VAC items work while the generator is running (Microwave, Air Conditioner)?
Is the battery disconnect connected?

So how do you get power when you dry camp? I thought the generator powered the house batteries. I am so new to all this. Do I always need shore power? The generator works, but how do I dry camp?

The generator provides 120 VAC to the converter just like the power pedestal provides AC to the converter. The converter sends AC power to the Airconditioner, Refrigerator, TVs, and all the wall plugs. It also sends DC to the batteries to charge them. If your generator is running and the batteries aren't charging -- check the USE/STORE switch (if you have one -- you did not include what model Thor you have). The USE/STORE switch must be in USE for the batteries to charge.

Year of RV? Thor what? fill in blank example; Hurricane, Ace, Four Winds etc. Model of RV e.g. 27.2 or 29M or 24F etc.

Is your "Use/Store" switch set to "Use"?
