Generator reset.

My Generator Power has tripped out a couple of times. I have reset it at the switch on the Generator. Now it won't reset at all. The Onan manual says to;

1. Turn on or reset the line circuit breaker on the generator set.
2. Turn on or reset the line circuit breaker on the main distribution panel in the vehicle.
I don't find a Generator reset breaker on the main panel. Any suggestions?

The generator uses the same 30 amp input into the panel as shore power, so same input breaker.

May be the transfer switch.

Locate and open the transfer switch. Its actually a heavy duty double pole, double throw relay. On many of them the relay has stranded wire pigtails. This allows the installer to quickly connect the coach cables to the stranded leads with wirenuts. On mine both of the #10 guage wires coming to the transfer switch were loosely connected at the wirenuts and the connections overheated and failed. Search for my post called Smoking or Non? Pictures included.
If you are constantly tripping the Genny breaker you must be overloading it.
Been there done that with the DW using the AC + electric griddle + microwave trying to fix breakfast for 5 or 6 folks.

generator fix

Total Value RV told me I had a bad Breaker on the Generator. The only place I could find that could look at it within a couple of weeks was, Crosspoint in Mishawaka. They are an authorized Onan dealer. They are very nice there but told me that; If they replace the breaker and it was a coach issue, I would have to pay: 1st call to TVRV. Then Thor. Solution; if its a coach issue, TVRV will pay and Thor will reimburse TVRV. After a new Breaker and connector, the generator is working fine. I was told by crosspoint, that they believe that a coach problem caused the generator problem and They would not warranty the same issue again. Man, this coach is wearing me out!
