GoodSam rating

Does anyone use or have used GoodSam's "Travel Assist" or "Roadside Assist" programs.? I'm looking at them and wondering if it's worth the price of admission. Looking for advice. Thanks

We have had AAA for years so didn't see much reason to switch, may be better deal I haven't really looked at it close. We are Good Sam members for camping discounts etc.

We have GoodSam and also have CoachNet from our recent new purchase. When we had a tire issue last year, we called GoodSam and they were able to get us to a shop to do a tire repair. It wasn't what we expected but it worked out. We haven't called CoachNet yet (and hope that we won't have to!)

I also have AAA for our cars and they were very helpful 3 years ago when riding in a friend's RV that had a blowout on the Interstate. They sent out a wrecker but were able to replace the tire and send us on our way. I was impressed that they came and took care of us even when it wasn't my vehicle.

I had AAA for years but when I got my Class C, AAA wouldn't do road service on RVs. Went with Good Sam and they covered the entire family's vehicles plus the RV. The kids are in college. That's 5 vehicles counting the RV with one membership. Recently had to call Good Sam to haul one of the cars to the dealership as the starter died and you can't even see it until you remove everything from the car but the gas cap. At least it seems that way. The tow truck arrived when they said they would, loaded up the car and took it to the dealership which was further than the nearest repair shop. No extra charge. Don't know why, didn't ask questions, just said thank you.

I've done a fair bit of research, poling a lot of RV'ers

First, if yours is a new motorhome on a Ford Chasis, you get several free years of roadside assistance through ford. It's through coachnet.

Generally speaking, the consensus from a lot of folks is that coachnet is better overall. I have AAA for the cars, but when my ford service runs out I intend to sign up for coachnet service for the RV....
