We can kick this around or just agree that it should be close and not 6 inches or more
Not preferred by RoadMaster or BlueOx otherwise it would be a warning, caution or note in their operator's manual. Other forums are other's opinions.

Bottom line, read the owner's manual and setup the towbar up as stated in that manual. Manuals are written for a reason.

BTW, the RoadMaster regional rep was at my house twice straightening out a less than stellar installation by their recommended installer and we talked at great length about towing setups, brake aways, and safety cables. Never once was it recommended that one end or the other be lower or higher. Sorry, I value the words of the professional that was at the house for about 8 hours.

How is it going to strain the baseplate? I would be more concerned about the high low twisting and possibly breaking at the welds from tight turns.

Blue Ox says the toad hitch point should be even to 4” below MH hitch

Where do they say such? My instructions, and those online have this. Maybe different models say something else?

You want cheap? We have cheap. Right here:

https://www.walmart.com/search/?page...sort=price_low

but I don't see anything with more than a 10" drop

This was my thought too. The forces to be concerned with will be on the hi-lo adapter, not the tow bar or baseplate.
