House battery doesn't charge

Hello,
We have a Freedom Elite 28FE.
We have two problems.
House battery:
After a four hour drive we found the house battery was dead, slides would not open and the generator would not start.
Camping World said it was the battery so they replaced it. But we have the same problem.
What would cause the house battery not to charge? How can I check it?

Yellow wire in house battery compartment:
It was not connected, just hanging. When I touch it to the positive terminal I hear a relay behind the steering wheel.
Camping World said it should be connected and connected it when they replaced the battery. When we got back to the site, connected to shore power the slides and awing would not open. Once I disconnected the yellow wire everything worked.
Does anyone know what the yellow wire is for?
Thank you,
Harry

Some photos of the battery area perhaps and maybe any more you can add.

sounds like you really need a VOM and check the battery voltage with engine running and stopped

I just mis-read the original post.../
I interpreted the fact that the yellow wire was disconnected and things worked normally as things were fixed...
Sorry!

My 23h was not charging the house batteries when driving. I tracked it down to a corroded fuse under the hood connected to the wiring for the Battery Isolation Monitor.
