New Awning LED Light Strip (Not Working)

Hey all,

So I have a 2020 Vegas 27.7. The 12v awning LED strip that came with the coach (located inside a sleeve that is sewn into the awning fabric) works fine, but it is not bright enough for my liking. I purchased a new 12v LED strip that I install just behind the old LED srtip sleeve (which fit perfect). I spliced the cables of the LED strip that came with the coach and connected the new LED strip to the spliced cables. Both lights work fine when running on the house batteries, but when the coach is connected to shore power, or the generator is running, the new LED light turns on for about 3 seconds and then turns off. Any suggestions as to why this may be happening?
