How To Heat An RV With LESS Propane

We are on the road 5 months and did a few cold nights down to 23 degrees. Our inexpensive window covers work great! We were comfortable at 64 degrees due to no drafts.
Faster ti heat. And Little electric space heater keeps it 68 to 72 degrees. Amazing relief for us.

Some info here

insullation

We have used aluminized windshield sun protectors, cut them to size, and used small velcro strips to hold them in place, so the regular acordian shades can be lowered This provides extra insulation and light masking. Gander Outdoors also has rolls of the double sided aluminized installation material that can be purchased. I already had the sunshades. Both are an effective insulator.

2. We have vent pillows for each vent.

3. I used a piece of the reflective material velcrod on the inside of the shower skylight as well.

4. I use the reflectors in the windows when in storage also. It provides protection from the hot KS sun and helps hold down the interior temperatures in summer. I suppose it also helps prevent possible fading of the interior surfaces.

Hope this helps.

If your coach is functional with the slides in you might want to pull them in, at least at night. There’s less space (volume) to heat and not as much surface are through which heat will be lost. It makes a big difference.

I didn't mention it before, but be sure to cover either inside or outside, the windshield. There is huge heat loss there.

Yep, I've done all of these things to improve the inside warmth of our 35" Class A... BUT here's the best improvement: COLD air seeps in UNDERNEATH all along the area where the slides meet the flooring. Solution... "Door Drafts" tucked into these spots. I found some that were 72" long by Googling "Door Drafts" and ordered them on Amazon! We're cozy now! (Pix Attached)

Got one as well. Live in Florida, a portable AC would be nice

Ever considered a pool noodle? They can be cut to size & shape (label each for location). If you install them under carriage for the slide, be sure to remove them before closing it!
