How many RVs have you owned?

This question was posed in the latest issue of RVtravel.com newsletter. Let's compare notes, I'll start.

My answer is five. A 19' Class C, a 30' travel trailer, a 35' fifth wheel, a 33' Class A gas and our current Vegas, which is a Class A on a Class C chassis. All that in a little over three decades.

To me, a fifth wheel, or tow behind, are not RVs.
Just the name, Recreational Vehicle, the word vehicle means you can drive it.
But this is my definition.
So, my answer is two.
Had one for one season, a class B, in a permanent spot camp ground, about 35 years ago, and now for 6 months, the one we have now, a class C.

New Question: What is a RV

Wikipedia:
A recreational vehicle (RV) is a motor vehicle or trailer which includes living quarters designed for accommodation.[1][2] Types of RVs include motorhomes, campervans, caravans (also known as travel trailers and camper trailers), fifth-wheel trailers, popup campers and truck campers.

I have owned about 5 trailers (landscape, Boat, utility, Car etc) none of these had accommodations.

Currently on my 5th RV: 19' Travel Trailer, 32' Class A, 23' Class C, 32' Class C, and current 25' Class C

After the war ended, I customized a 1969 Chevy Van in 1973 while in the USAF. Not sure that counts . Late 80's we had a super B, and when I retired in 2013 I purchased a 38 ft DP and now an Axis. So 3.5??

Just two. A very nice Rockwood pop-up camper when our kids were young (sold a long time ago) and a 38’ class A Challenger, purchased new about nine months after we retired.

We started out with a14' single axle (that one didn't stay too long, too small), a 21' Terry that we had set up on a river lot, an 8' slide-in popup truck camper, a 12' slide-in popup truck camper, and now our 27' class A.

We've had several pop ups and travel trailers over the years, but this is our first motorhome. Looking forward to our first trip, and I'm sure I'll have questions.

Just one, 2017 Axis, so far. Im sure I will have a larger "retirement RV" someday.

Im kinda like "10scDust". I always thought RV's were "motor homes" (A's, B's, C's). But I noticed over the past couple of years (when I started looking for my first RV) most folks call everything an RV. But to me the word "Vehicle" indicates it drives itself.... But I guess im wrong (wouldnt be the first time - lol).

For us it's 4, started out with a 2002 Tahoe 23FB travel trailer. After we wore the tires off it we upgraded to a 2005 Laredo 27RL 5-wheel.
Wishing to being able to get up and move around while on the road we again upgraded to a 2009 Bounder 35J. 8 years later we decided 35 feet was bigger then we needed, so we downsized to a Freedom Elite 24FE...best decision we've made.

Starcraft Pop-up
Starcraft 26' Travel Trailer
Palomino 8801 Truck Camper
Cougar 28RLS 33' 5th Wheel
Lance 9SC Truck Camper
Four Winds 26B Class C

The only POS is the Four Winds.

The Palomino had issues but the factory replaced it.

Both Starcraft were literally flawless. The

Cougar had some warranty work done on the fiberglass that left it in worse shape than before. It also had the issue with the control panel but I learned to deal with it as the replacement upgrade was only a marginal improvement.

Nine. A pop-up, a hybrid, three travel trailers, two class C's and two class A's. My current class A is for sale in hopes of migrating to a fifth wheel for the last and final unit.

Only two...
But I've been around them for well over 50 years. My Dad owned the rest of them!

Since most states define a trailer as a vehicle (Title, tags, registration, etc) then I'll go with RV including all vehicles with living accommodations.

So, 6 for us.

Coleman Pop-up,
Fleetwood 22' Hybrid (got flooded and totaled in a hurricane)
Fleetwood 25' Resort
Sun Valley Pop-Up Truck Camper
Forest River 29' Surveyor
Thor ACE 27.1

Over 2 decades, tent camping before that.

Only owned 2, camped in many more. We owned a 27' TT for close to 15 years before we traded and upgraded to the Chateau Super C this year. There is no going back! We LOVE this thing!

We have enjoyed 4 different RVs
1985 4wheel Popup Camper built to order and mounted on our 4X4 Truck
1982 StarCraft Popup TT used many years when the family out grew the truck camper.
One summer tenting that we won't talk about.
2008 22' Flagstaff Ultra light 5th
2017 Thor 24F starting out our Class C adventures.

Each have served us well in our outdoor adventures

We started with a used 16 foot bunk trailer I used in the Wyoming Oil Field,
Then we bought a new 1974 tantum axle Road Runner, I don't recall the size but about 19'.
In 2004 came a lightly used 2003 R-Vision Trail Bay
Next was the 2013 RockWood 5th Wheel. 32'
And finally and probably last Thor 23TR

So the answer is 5 over 45 years
