How to remove console

So we just completed a cross country trip in our WIndsport 31S and on the way noticed that a bolt that secures the driver deck to the chassis is backing it's way out and pushing up on the linoleum on the driver's side. It looks like I could access it and tighten it down if I could remove the center console.

There are a total of 4 screws that hold the console in place. When I backed out the first two screws on the console it doesn't budge at all. I looked underneath and they seem to just be like sheet metal screws, so I am not sure why the console won't budge. Maybe it's glued down?

Any advice appreciated.

The dog house on my Hurricane 29M looks just like that. I have removed mine by pulling out the 4 screws. It wasn't glued down.

Thanks, I would like to get this out and tighten down the bolt myself. Seems like a waste to pay someone for it. I only removed the front two screws and I expected to be able to lift it a little, but it would not budge, so I re-tightened them.

Dog house removal

I removed mine on my 29M to add more sound deadening. It was held down with 4 self tapping screws. I went around the edges carefully with a putty knife and it came up without any issues.

Yeah the doghouse isn't glue down but its kind of suck in place. The putty knife is your best bet I just grabbed it and pulled hard

Thanks, Just curious, what did you use for the sound deadening and how well did it work? I wouldn't mind trying that if I have it apart anyway.

Doghouse insulation

I used a material called Dynamat. Used for insulation on automobile hoods. Worked great just cut to fit and stick on. I found it made a big difference in the noise level. If you want to really quiet it down you can cover the cab floor. I used rubber mats from Lowe’s. They were 4x6 and were easily cut with scissors. I made a paper template of the front cab floor cut them to fit. On top of that I used the template to cut a custom rug to go over the rubber padding. I had the rug bound really happy with the look and the sound reduction

Great ideas! I've ordered the dynamat and am looking at options for the mats and carpeting. I did get the doghouse off and bolt tightened back down. There is a rubber gasket at the bottom and I couldn't break the seal until all four screws were out. Thanks for the help.
