I finally did it!

After talking and typing about this for years: we finally added an outside 30 amp box for the camper! :thumb
This was an easy installation for a couple of reasons
First: I wasn't the one doing it!
Second: We already had a hole in the wall.
Third: we already had an empty 30 amp breaker in the box.
So after three hours of visiting and tinkering: Voila!

Now we have the full 30 amps available, and no more cords running under the garage door, and all the way to the front of the building!

Great job! Our 2016 Vegas has always been plugged in since we brought it home in 2016. Interior still smells likw new. A/C set at 80 to 82 to keep inside dry and fridge full.

Going to add another plug as secondary or if buddy needs to spend night ahead of out of area races.

Awesome! My dad and I added a 30 amp for ours as well. Love being able to keep it plugged in and ready to go!

Finally, so I don't have to park down by the street or down near the creek? I am OMW when I get there and I plug into your 30 amp, what are you gonna do? Boondock?

Ironically, I have been leaving mine unplugged for 2 or 3 weeks at time of late. I started doing that originally when it got so hot and I was wanting to NOT be charging my batteries while plugged up. If I turn the Use Switch off everything is off anyway; so I just stored the 50 amp cord in electrical bay and shut it down. I never see batteries draining unless I leave something on.

With that said, if I need power and AC; plugging in is the 1st thing I do.

Kudos Bob! I had a retired electrician add a 30 amp outlet at my house for when we are loading, unloading or working on our coach. Completed that project last fall. Can't store there, but been thinking about adding that outlet for years. Just reaches the street with one 30 amp extension.

That's awesome!! . I'm limping along with a 20amp plug in my shed close to the RV. It's good enough to cool the fridge the night before a trip... a little leary about running the AC though.

I have a confession... we just had a 50amp outlet installed in the garage. . The wife is now the owner of a new Chevy Bolt EUV... her new commuter car. Gotta say it's a blast to drive!!

Next up is a Generac... just in case the grid goes down she'll have a full tank of electrons to get her to work!

Hi Bob
Looks like you did a great job adding the 30 amp outlet. That will keep everything topped off and ready to go whenever you guys are ready.

Paul

My parts of he project were to hold the flashlight, and bring tools...
In other words: I was the "Kid Gopher"!

Yeah... we're both fighting health issues, and it's getting ugly.

We just built a new home and when adding outlets for the partially finished (seen to be finished) garage, I had my electrician add a 30 Amp outlet outside the garage. I'm soooo glad I did that!

Good deal Bob! We had our neighbor who is a retired sparky put one in the garage years ago. You will find it is great to be able to keep the rig plugged in and ready to go! We keep ours plugged in all winter no worries about batts going dead and freezing up.

Just a suggestion, I added a 30 amp breaker and receptical to our 24.1 just for a buddy camper to plug in to.
Receptical is in the outside tv compartment.
We also then use the 24.1 as a 30amp generator for the house during a power outages.
