Got any close calls or crashes on your dash cam?

We almost got sideswiped by a Target truck a few months ago on I75 south near the start of Florida's Turnpike - less than a foot between the front of my RV and the rear of his truck AFTER I had applied the brakes hard. Unfortunately, the file was corrupt so I had no video but due to this truck driver's continued reckless driving once past us, and my wife on the phone to Target (as well as FHP) he was grounded before we reached Tampa.

Here's some RV crashes for your amusement and a stuck Class A. The infamous 11 Foot 8 overpass takes a little off the top of a big Class A at the end.

From what I could stand to watch: there was a lot of "the tail wagging the dog" going on. A simple tap on the brake controller would have stopped the impending disasters.

Entertaining for sure!! For the boaters in our lives...do a Google search on "Haulover Inlet" in Miami. Amazing how stupid people can be with million dollar boats and the lives of their families.

Ineptitude is really on display at the Miami Boat Ramps channel. Seems nobody knows how to dock a boat.

A couple of weeks ago my wife and I were on the way to eat out and waiting at a local red light. We were going to turn left onto a 45 MPH 4 lane highway, there was a small sedan across from us coming straight across the intersection waiting on the light as well.

The light turned green for both of us but I hung back to allow the opposing car to cross. Two teenage girls doing everything right except verifying no idiots running redlights. They entered the intersection and were T-boned by a Dodge SUV doing well over 45 and never even slowing down before hitting them. They had to cut the driver out with jaws of life. The SUV went to their left into a convivence store parking lot and was finally stopped by steel poles. Luckily, due to air bags in both vehicles, no one died or had life threatening injuries.

If my wife's truck had a dashcam it would have been great evidence of the accident, but she "doesn't like things on her dash". She has this one now, tucked behind her rear view mirror. She can't even see it when driving:

We were supposed to be on the very next cruise of that ship. Cruise line scrambled and found another ship.

Someone who is good at our search function should dig up the video a member here posted. The one where he bitched about a commercial vehicle merging onto the Highway.
The one where it turns out our op was at fault on a number of fronts.

That's assuming there is a brake controller installed.

I'll take your word on the research you've done.
No need for me to spend three hours looking when someone trusted has already done it.

I have dashcams in all my enclosed vehicles and I give cheap ones as gifts whenever gifts are called for. And I have a habit of popping them off the dash and handing them to friends who notice them. This week I need one for my offroader due to a kitchen table conversation, and me handing over the $30 camera.

Everytime I find a favorite, technology marches on and it's unavailable.
I bought a two camera system last week for the tbird .
It works as a backup/rearview camera with a nice 3"screen, and as a dash cam.
It's the first one that I haven't had to read the manual. Because the menu actually works as a menu should.
I can't recommend as I haven't used it except on a bench test.
All others I have are discontinued.

I have a Rexing V-1 4k dash camera. I love it. I have one mount in my car and one mount in our motor home. I just move the camera from one vehicle to the other. The company(Rexing) sent me a free additional mount and power cable once I contacted them inquiring if I could buy the extra items.

That was the Dude who cut off the "Mr. Rooter" van, and wouldn't let him enter the lanes of traffic; from an entrance ramp...
And then the Rooter Guy put him and his RV on the road shoulder!

He probably didn't realize you were driving a little "brisk" - 55 in a 45? Why is everyone in such a doggone hurry these days?
