Included or not?

Hello

I have a 2017 Tuscany 45 AT and would like to know if the height listed on the spec's page includes the air conditioners.

I know the only way to tell really is to get up and measure it but I am traveling and do not have the stuff to do a measurement.

Why am i asking? I have a 13'7" bridge I need to get under. The spec's show I am 12'9".

Thanks for any replies.

How to get an exact height reading on your rv:
Pull under a low roof like a gas station or awning.
Measure distance from your highest point to that ceiling of the overhead awning.
Then measure from the ground to the awning, and subtract.
That's the only reasonable way to get an exact height while you're on the road.
A 98 cent harbor freight tape. Measure and one trip up your ladder.

Be aware that angle greatly affects height differentials from end to end of your vehicle.

Yesterday we were replacing a floor in the spousal units hobby room and had to relevel a four foot wide cabinet. The floor is sloped 8 inches in 24ft, we figure someone read the specs wrong on a garage floor and sloped it ten times more than required.

Punchline: when using a 12 inch level it says we needed 2 wedges. When using the 4ft level is showed the correct FIVE we needed.

It's the same with a MotorHome.
My 24.1 is going to fit under many canopies your 40ft'r won't just due to length and dangle angle.

Just a psa heads up,
Height is also a product of length and fulcrum isuues.

Most states anything over 13'6" is considered an oversized load. It's doubtful you'll be over or near that, but at your 1st opportunity I'd get a good measurement & post it on your dash so you'll always know for sure.

Published height is to the top of the highest factory installed item on the roof. Most of the time that is the A/C shroud. You should be good.

of course, YES, how could it not include the air conditioners that are provided with the motorhome, and installed by the very factory giving the spec? Yes, it includes EVERYTHING, and with your air bags inflated, too.

NO RV is built close or OVER the National Highway max height of 13' 6", not even semi trucks and trailers.

If travelling, a quick stop at Home Depot or equiv. and rent a loooong level and tape measure, or a straight board, short level and tape measure. You decide the highest point, set the level and measure. I am sure they would even assist you, just for laughs!

Thanks all - I was thinking it did include everything but it never hurts to post a question on this blog.

Cuts an hour off the trip home.

after I added my portable KingTailgaterII satellite antenna to ride on the rear of the roof, IT became the highest point on my coach, although I'm still under 12' : )

seeing a '12' Height' sign posted on a Chicago street several years back, though, still made me pause - I simply dropped my air bags for the short ride under it - no scratches
: )

For the record - cleared with all roof equipment safely still on the roof. Great trip home.

Thanks for posting.

You have made a dangerous statement. My Accolade as well as the Jayco Senecas are 13' 4" from the factory. Do you consider that close?

That all depends: Is it true that, "A miss is as good as a mile"?

My 5th wheel was at 13'4", so YES there are RVs that are very close. Also some semis, watch for the escort vehicles out in front & behind some loads.

Wouldn't want to chance it. 13' 6" when posted could be 13' 4" or 13' 3" after re-paving and that is nowhere near a miss and way too close for comfort.

So what's the clearance under it now?
And more importantly: what are all of those impact marks from?

Above 13-6 it doesn't have to be marked. A few years ago they paved the road, about 3- 4 inches higher, but didn't mention the change, resulted in a few skid marks on the bridge. Then, Actually marked the new clearance then came back a year or 2 later. and removed the blacktop base and brought clearance to 13-6 or more. Hwy 29 major route north out of Pcola.

I would not depend on the "page" being accurate. Many things change. You should put a level on top of the AC let it (level) hang over the edge while another person on a ladder measures it, and of course this is when the MH is empty. I know you said this already in your post, but a lot of people don't read the post just the title.
