Inverters

I am replacing the inverter in our 2012 Tuscany 42FK. Looking for recommendations on how big of one I need. Replacing a 2000 magnum.

I want to be able to run, Refrigerator, Micro, and 40" TV and AC/Heat. How big of an inverter do I need?

I don't want to drain my batteries. TIA

replace it with the same one, a Magnum ME-2012 or MS-2012... it will do just fine for you, and your existing wiring is already in place for the same 'foot print' inverter - not really that hard to replace either - just remove the heavy battery cables, remove some bolts, and remove... now repeat with the new unit.

also, the 'size' of the inverter doesn't drain you batteries, you do!

what you use during the course of the Inverter's operation, when not plugged into shore power, or on the generator, is what the Inverter is powering - only YOU control what you are using.
The unit is a 30amp size, which is the same size of your Inverter breaker - your coach is designed just for this size.

Yup... Sometimes: bigger is just bigger, and not really any better.

We had charred wires on the old inverter and the 110 volt breaker was blown, the inverter would not power anything. I guess since it is 30 amp would work on 50 amp? This stuff is confusing to us. I would not run the TV all night or the microwave, but in summer months, the AC, and definitely would want the fridge running. Minimal lights. the one we are replacing is a pure sine

yes, the Inverter only receives up to 30amps for the built-in Charger, and then 'gives' up to 30amps toward the circuits that are part of the Inverters output, within your main panel - typically all outlets, including the fridge and microwave, etc.

50amp Shore Power doesn't have anything to do with the Inverter, only the 120v power to it's Charger, to charge the batteries while you are plugged in, or on the generator.
