James Island County Park Campground

Anybody stayed here recently? A few reviews from last summer/fall mention the low limbs approaching the single lane roads (mostly Camp Road) into this park. There's only one way in.

We stayed there a few weeks ago. It is a really nice park with bike/hiking trails, off-leash parks for large and small dogs, and 50 amps on most sites. Easy access to downtown Charleston.

Follow the directions on the park website and you’ll have no problem getting in and out.

We were there a month or so ago. We were not there long enough! We have plans to go back. It's a big place and dog friendly too. What's nice is that it's really close to some fabulous shopping in dntn Charleston. We arrived late- well after dark and they were very accommodating. If you have a big class A coach, getting in (and there's only one way) is a bit dicey- lots of trees with branches that seem a lot lower than they ought to be.

Hence, the OP. We're heading there this weekend. We're 12'-6" so shouldn't be any issues. They must have done some serious trimming since last Fall. Lots of reviews were not good about the low limbs.

Tom...great tip! Was looking at other ingress options (Camp Road, etc) and that's where all the issues/reviews come from. Just ran the Google along their directions/route and...perfectly nice route. Thanks!
