Keeping fridge/freezer running overnight if sleeping in hotel

We are staying in a hotel tonight and need to keep the fridge/freezer running overnight. What are our options?

We have done it a lot. I assume it is on gas and if so just make sure you have enough gas to keep it going. It actually uses very little propane. We have done in 100 degree weather with no problems.

Thanks but we are in a class A & refrigerator running on 110. We were just wondering about running the generator all night.

If you are in a hotel you need to check with the desk about the noise of running the generator all night.

So you must have an inverter. Won't that run it overnight?

If you have an inverter why would you run the generator all night?

The inverter "makes" 110 by using battery power. The generator "makes" 110 by using gas and it also charges the batteries. So you don't need both at the same time to run the fridge, but at some point the batteries will run down.
You may have to learn by experience, how long you can go until its time to either crank up the generator or the engine for a while to charge back up.

You could also inquire at the hotel to see if you can plug in. A normal 120V jack will have plenty of juice available to just run the refer.

I looked at a Coachmen with the same set up. Dealer told me there was a sensor that started the generator automatically to charge the batteries. Don't know if that was true or if Thor is set up that way.

I run just on the inverter (no generator) to keep the fridge running Did it for two days and generator never started If you have an automatic start generator the generator will start automatically when the batteries get low and only run till the batteries are charged and then shut down...maybe 45 minutes
