Lazy Days in Tampa FL

Anyone purchased an RV from them? Possibly driving our Motor home there on the 16th to trade it in on a 2020 XG32 Omni. They good people to work with? So far my interaction with them on the internet and on the phone has been positive.

No news is good news I reckon. Guess I will find out on the 16th and report back how it went.

I had some very limited discourse with one of their Sales Associates. He was polite and knowledgeable...
But that's as far as it went.

Good luck!

The most likely reason for no response is there are plenty of threads on LD. Search if you are interested.

Since you have decided to visit them, enjoy your golf cart ride.

Thanks BOB. We are taking delivery of our 2020 XG32 Omni on the 16th. All of the conversations with with the salesman and the finance person have been very good.
We are looking forward to the drive down to Florida.

They have an RV Resort at Lazydays Tampa. We have stayed there several times. Really nice pool that is totally screened in.

When you buy an RV from them they give you some number of free days to camp in the resort. This is a good time to pick up the RV and then camp for a week or two to make sure everything works right. They are right there with service to fix anything you find during this shakedown.

Congrats on the new purchase. I would take advantage of the rv park next door just to see if there are any issues that they can address on the spot.

Welcome to the forum! You'll usually get better answers faster.

Lazy Days used to be among the biggest RV dealers in the country. Until C Wurld had their big expansion, they were together in Tampa. They have a lot more competition now. We have shopped there, but never could make the right deal. Their sales peope have always been top notch.

They used to have a driving class for motorhomes, maybe still do. We did it so Mrs S could have a bit more confidence if I was unable to drive. So far that hasn't happened.

If time allows, check out Homosassa Springs State Park. It's just a little north of Tampa. Good for 2-3 hours and you'll see all kinds of Florida critters up close.

When we are zipping along cross country, we often overnight at Wal Mart or Crackr Barrel. Usually easily accessable. Often you can gas up nearby, so you are ready to hit the road in the morning. Run the fridge on gas and the batteries will be fine overnight. They charge as you drive.

Since you are heading west, plan to pull over for dinner or stop for the night before the sun reaches that blinding zone. And apply RainX on the windshield, it really helps with rain and bugs, too.

Happy trails!

We are only going to get to spend a couple of nights there before we need to get headed back home, wish we had more time but work gets in the way.

Thanks Mr Sunshine, I have been a member here for a little over 3 years, just don't usually have too many questions, this is our 3rd motor home so hopefully I didn't just jinx myself and will now have a bunch of issues/questions
Thanks for the suggestions and sites to see, but maybe next time we can take some in. We are driving our 31L down to trade in, spend a couple of nights and then have to head back. I'm sure we will get some long weekends in at the lake before we take off on our longer trips west to Wyoming and Montana to the mountains where we Boondock a lot.

Does anybody know how their RV Resort compares to what MHSRV offers?
(Just curious...)

We have purchased 3 RVs from them, 1 used Jayco, 5 months later traded for an Outlaw 37BG, then traded for out Outlaw 38MB. Sales, financing, insurance are all good. Service well, they let you make an appointment, but it can be 6 weeks or more for them to even get the rig back to you. We needed a new chassis battery a couple of weeks ago, called Gander (camping world) in Bartow, got in the next day and waited For it. While we were checking out they suggested we get the rood inspected since it had been over a year. Again, we made the appointment for the following week and it was ready the next day. I do not think Lazydays would have done either so quickly, and we live closer to Bartow anyway. As far as the campground there, it is a true parking lot resort, pool, restaurant, trolley to take you to the dealership or the casino (not now due to covid). It is cheap to stay there, like $35 per night. When you buy from them, they let you stay over in the delivery lot, with water and electric hook ups, to make sure stuff works and to het used to it all. We never did that, just personal preference.

Thanks Marsha,
We will be staying there a couple of nights, then we need to get headed back home. Most likely will not get and repair or maintenance done there since it is a 1200 mile drive for us. I do appreciate the feed back.

Well, I tried to purchase from them but had a bad experience just related to a Salesman, and he's gone, so that problem is solved. I just never got the impression that they wanted my business. They weren't good at following up with me and "working" on the price a bit. I gave up and bought from Camping World in Ft. Myers! Pretty good folks there, but... are ANY of these Sales Outlets any better than another? Hmmm.... LOL

One of our members coined the term, "Sales Goober"; for good reasons!

Beware possibly the best liars and cheats on the entire RV market. We bought and like everyone else got screwed their. Not to mention overpromised, overpaid and worst service department in all of Tampa. Don't be fooled by their internet come on. Check Yelp there are several review for them BEWARE. Camping World, General a little better best probably RV World , new but guite nice. One thing about Lazy Days that's good is their huge. Probably why the experience is so terrible. You a number only.

We purchased a motorhome from them and drove our trade in 1200 miles because they offered $10,000 more for it than other dealer. Make sure you know exactly where they want you to bring the rv when you get there. It is a big dealer with several gates and if you go to the wrong gate they don’t know where to send you. Plus there is a large rv campground there with the same name and they didn’t know where we needed to go. Took us some time driving around going to different area as to find where we needed to go. Have your contact give good specific instructions and meet you there. It is a huge complex with many departments and they will pass you from one to the other and sometimes the department they will send you to won’t get your information sent down to them, so they seemed confused on what needed to be done. It’s a beautiful complex and they have hook ups for you while you are going thru the process. Our salesman didn’t follow thru and make sure we were taken care of as he should. He got the sale and that was all he cared about. Good luck!
