level and slides-whiich first???
 So really confused by leveling advice on our class C- Thor, full slide on drivers side and bedroom slide in rear on passenger side---do you level everything then put your slide out or put your slides out then level?? Someone said to level after the slide are out because of the compensation load of the slides hanging out!? True  ??

I had always heard: Level first then put the slides out. You don't want the slides out while you are twisting/turning/etc. the frame as you level.
Our Axis even has a decal from Thor that states that: Level first, then slide. (Funny thing is the decal mentions jacks, etc. which our Axis didn't come with LOL.)

Thanks-that is what we had heard first and assumed- it makes the most sense....but they heavy and then i thought we had it backwards!! LOL

LEVEL first or you risk jamming your slides and misaligning the tracks. Could get them stuck. And once you are level... if the tires are off the ground place something under the wheels. According to the Thor factory service we just left, you should never leave the weight of your rig on the levelers! Who knew? Really, they are not meant to support the weight, only stabilize it.

Level first ... as stated before...your slides/bunks could become jammed ..
in addition .. your refrigerator needs to be on a level playing field to work properly.

Our dealer in Virginia told us today to always put the slide out and then level our new Chateau. Dealer says this info cones from Thor. How confusing!!!! Any suggestions?

There is a sticker next to the switches for extending and retracting the slides. It states to LEVEL BEFORE EXTENDING THE SLIDES. And that is what Thor representatives also say.

My neighbor got his certification as an RV inspector and when I purchased my RV he immediately came over and told me to ALWAYS level first before putting out the slides!

Yes that sticker is there but you see how info gets garbled as stated in others posts.....haha.....it is funny how we sometimes second guess ourselves!

I just use Lynx Levelers. I have 3 packs of them. In most cases it only takes 2 or 3 layers to level it, except for our driveway: I have to use all 30 to get it level enough for the fridge to cool down.
