Location and Use

Hi everyone

Im the owner of a new 2018 Freedom Elite HE24 our first RV. Ive been self educating and learning quite a bit but there are so many things that can not be found in the book provided at purchase. Two things Im trying to figure out currently. One is where is the location of the converter I havent found it yet. Second question and I know it seems silly but right above the sink there are two switches. One turns on the lights above the sink and kitchen area. The other I have yet to determine what it does. Ive turned it on many times with power or generator running and without and I havent seen anything happen to indicate what the switch does. Anyone have any info on either of these questions I would certainly appreciate it very much.

Andy

Find your fuse panel. Converter is part of it. On the switch, I'm clueless.

For the switch: Check if its the porch light outside, if not that does it have two "states"--e.g. it rests in the middle and you can momentarily push it up or down? If you do momentarily push it up or down do you hear a "clunk" when you do so? If so then that is your use/store switch.

Thanks I will check that out again. I have looked at that breaker box with fuse panel right next to it but did not notice the converter, perhaps it s below them and just not visible right off or I just didnt see it.

Thanks much

Andy

The converter is really part of the breaker box/fuse panel..behind it really.

Thanks Jamie, checked that out deosnt seem to be it. I have LED lights along the awning and a step light but no porch light Im aware of. The switch is two position only. I think the use/store button on my unit or the same thing any way is the one right as I enter the door. When it is on and the the indicator is lighted the inside lights work and the house batteries will charge if it isnt on none of that will happen so I believe it s the same function as a use/store switch. Really strange that switch though. Maybe it was installed to power something my unit doesnt have. Hard to say since there are no good manuals published.

Thanks
Andy

Sounds like the perfect location for a macerator switch. It may be like mine on the outside kitchen sink and not working when I first checked it.

I have 2 switches under my cabinets in my Miramar. One turns on under cabinet lights and the other turns on lights above the sofa.

On my '18 Axis that 2nd switch is for the LED rope light over that upper cabinets. Yours may be a mistake.

LOL! Ya never know. I did end up getting in touch with the Thor people. As it turns out, if the switch on the fan between the sink and the dinette is turned on then that switch above the sink turns the fan on. If the local switch on the fan is not on the switch over the sink does nothing. I would never have guessed that one. Too bad Thor doesnt just publish all that kind of info in the owner manual section but they dont. They show not much more that the floor plan. But mystery solved. Thanks to everyone for the comments.

I have a Chateau 24F. The second switch above the sink supplies power to the vent fan in the kitchen area. Took me a couple of days to figure that one out when the vent fan would not work

Hi, There is a fan right in front of the microwave, that switch needs to be on and then your switch above the sink will run that fan.

My porch light quit working, not sure what the problem is, is that on a breaker or a fuse?

I understand all lighting is 12V.
That would be a fuse and you should have a legend.
The breakers are for things running on 110V.

However, your light problem could be other than a fuse, just sayin.
