Loss of shore power

I have a 2017 thor ace 30.2 and I don’t have shore power yet when the generator is on I have 120 volt ac. I verified the source and even that have power to the coach side of the shore power connector

Check the connections to your Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS).

Not following what you posted. You can have shore power or you can have Generator power. You cannot have both at the same time. Which do you have? The generator cannot apply any power to the shore power cord.

.

Of course all I was doing was describing the symptoms. The house ac will supply off the generator but when I pull in shore power (and shut off the generator) the house power is not available

2 reasons for this. 1) you have no shore power voltage present or 2) Your ATS is stuck on the generator side. Time to break out the volt meter.

Yep. I was just about to order a new ATS when I did another check and heard the ATS switch. Did actual voltage checks on pwr cable and found I lost the neutral. Important lesson I relearned from years past...proximity testers can give you a positive indication when it is not actually there. Fixed problem in 5 minutes

I have had two major issues with our ATS on our 2016 VEGAS. Both times the connections arced and melted the wire nuts. Now, I check the connections at least once every other month...

Going to replace all wire with solid copper core before I travel this year...

All 120 volt wiring except the shore power and gen power is solid romex. Shore power must be stranded. You can not handle solid in that large size. If you don't like wire nuts install split bolt connectors and rubber tape.
