Lost 12v Power

While driving down I 20 yesterday I lost power to the 12v receptacle below the USB port on the dash. Of course I lost my gps that was plugged into it. Does anyone know if there is a fuse etc. under dash or maybe just a bad connection? I have a Vegas 25-2. Any help is appreciated thanks

In our Challenger, the same thing happened. It was a loose fuse found in the engine compartment fuse box (F53 chassis versus E Series).

That should be in the FORD ,fuse block, since it is powered off the Ford power harness.

It could also be a loose connector on the back of the actual plug.

Thanks Mike, plug checked out ok. Look’n for the Ford fuse block now. I think it’s in the passenger side front storage compartment on my ‘17 Vegas. Appreciate your help. Stay safe.

I have the 25.2 and blew the same fuse. This will help. It is in the fuse compartment in the engine.

Don't be shocked (pun intended), I think that I had to pay $10 for a replacement.

Thanks gbrown that’s very helpful. $10 Wow, did you have to purchase it at a Ford dealership or is it a common fuse? Thanks again.

It was at an RV shop in the thousand lakes area of Minnesota. You may be able to find it cheaper.

I have never seen a square fuse like it before.

Was your fuse box on the left or right side of the engine compartment?

On the driver's side.
Have you downloaded Ed Falker's Manual? Look at page 138.

Wal-Mart has some of the square auto fuses. My Jeep uses them.

Lost 12v Power

When we picked out our brand-new Thor 34F I didn't bother to check the 12 outlets in the dash. NONE of the three (2 cigarette and the USB outlets) were connected. I get frequent blackouts on the the rear camera while driving and the dashboard has no lighting unless the headlights are on and then very week lights. You cannot read the dash if you are wearing sunglasses. Fortunately, now that the 12v outlets are connected, I can check speed off my GPS. Judging by this forum, we are luckier than most with problems.

Box fuse

There is a 20A (or maybe 30A) fuse in position ~70 that was blown out when I purchased my 25.2. It is located on the drivers side of the engine compartment but is a new style "box like" fuse. I bought an assortment of 10 on Ebay because they are hard to find and quite expensive (~$10 apiece) for around $20.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Fuse-P...0AAOSwGYVXARVN

is a link for 5 pcs 30A fuse which should work fine for the cigarette lighter.

Thanks Thehobe1 for the info and link. I did manage to snag one from a Ford dealership on the road. Appreciate it.

Same problem here, (2018 Vegas 25.2. Towing jeep with blue ox tow bar and Patriot 2 baking system) Everything working fine, stopped and shut off engine, no power to 12v. Unplugged and reseated the “cigarette lighter”, replaced both fuses at position 70 & 72. Still nothing. What am I missing?

In the engine compartment on the drivers side, there is a switch that is responsible for connecting the two battery systems together for using the house battery to start the engine if the chassis battery is too low to crank the engine and it is a very convenient place to monitor both battery systems. There are two large battery cables going to the unit and this is where you can check both batteries for their voltage levels. The top "fat" cable is connected to the house battery and the lower "fat" cable is the chassis battery. They should both measure around 12.6V if everything is working properly (engine off and shore power not connected). There are also connections to the ignition "on" and the Battery tie switch for their operation.

If the battery voltages are OK, then check the 100A protection breakers, one located by the engine battery and one located by the house batteries.
