Low Water Pressure with Shower - City Water Only

Good Afternoon. Recently took delivery of a 2022 Thor Windsport 29m. We love it!

However, the water pressure to the shower is extremely low (not usable) when connected to City water. The water pressure is fine with all other faucets when on City water.

The Shower pressure is fine when utilizing the water pump. Same with the other faucets.

So, it is likely not the campground water pressure as the other faucets flow fine? It is likely not the water filter/s (we have added) as the other faucets flow fine? There does not appear to be any leaks to the shower. Could it be the shower head?

Any insight and thoughts are appreciated. Take Care.

There is never a reason to use shore water unless your tank leaks badly ir your pump quits or other catastrophe.

It's unreliable, allows for a bursting freezing ripped out stolen leaking trip hazard hose, and it's vague on the high side as well as your low side.

(This post falls under the 'any' you asked for)

Not the shower head since the water flow is fine with the water pump. The water filter and perhaps a cheep water pressure regulator are in the hose line and are not with the water pump. You got to look at what is not common with the water pump vs the water hose line. You need a good water pressure regulator like:

You don't have a pressure problem, you have a flow problem (which may be caused by low pressure).

As MLP said, not the shower head if it works OK with the pump.

I suspect your definition of "fine" in the faucets when on Shore Water may be due to the fact that the flow in the faucets looks good even at very low flow rates due to the aerator, but there really is a difference between flow with the pump and flow with Shore Water.

You probably need to trace out your Shore Water plumbing from the outside connector (which has a screen that may be clogged and a check valve that may be obstructing flow) to the common water distribution manifold where the pump output joins the supply manifold. Maybe the hose is kinked, maybe they wrapped some Teflon tape across the connection instead of just the threads.

VERY Simple solution: Fill your RV's fresh water tank... then use your RV's water pump. ONLY use the city water connection to refill your tank.

Your water pressure will ALWAYS be predictable. No need to worry about burst water pipes in your RV - just turn off your water pump when not using water!

That's not a solution, that's a work-around; although many campers do this very thing for other reasons than a problem with the Shore Water supply.

Pressute regulators regulate high pressure only.
They are a worthless pass-through on pressures below their setting,

Of course I carry a nice one and I have a few yard sale and discount ones ones as give-aways.

Actually, the regulator I'll probably never use, because I don't use shore water, is actually TWO of them.
One
Is
None.
